Inyati Game Lodge
Highly trained and experienced rangers and trackers ensure that your safari experience ranks amongst the best in Africa.
At Inyati, you can look forward to fantastic close-up experiences with Africa's wildlife on every game drive. View Africa’s most impressive wildlife on morning and afternoon/evening game drives in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles with expert guides and Shangaan trackers.
Game drives traverse an area of 10 000 hectares (24 700 acres) and strict vehicle limits at sighting ensure the exclusivity of your game viewing experience.
Inyati offers fishing as an extra activity between game drive times. Fishing equipment is supplied by the Lodge.
Fishing is done in the Sand River and at the causeway. Guests' safety is paramount, and they are always accompanied by an armed ranger or tracker.
There are over 37 species of fish in the Sand River - the most common ones being:
Sharp tooth Catfish (Barbel), Mozambique Tlipia (Bream), Squeakers, Tigerfish, Small Mouth Yellowfish, Mudfish
Apart from the relaxing aspect of fishing, it is a glorious way to be at one with the bush, listening to the chirping of the various bird species or the sounds of hippos in the distance.
A must for all nature enthusiasts is the bush walk. This affords guests the ultimate, close to the wild experience and a chance to focus on the smaller bush inhabitants including birds, insects and butterflies.
One can discover the interesting world of trees, grasses, flowers, geology and ecology. Occasionally game can be seen on walks - including the “Big 5”.
Bush walks take place either before or just after breakfast, depending on the time of the year and the prevailing weather conditions.
Celebrating special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or other milestones, Inyati would be delighted to assist in creating an unforgettable experience.
All relevant information must to be communicated to our reservations department in order for the lodge to make preparations.
NETWORK IN NATURE
Inyati has the ideal conference venue called TreeTops because of its setting in the tops of the tree’s on the banks of the Sand River about 3km from the main lodge. This is the perfect facility to host intimate wedding ceremonies or corporate conferences. TreeTops offers the opportunity for focused meetings yet provides the setting for complete relaxation at the end of the day.
SSW Rhino Protection Helicopter Programme
Inyati Game Lodge has always been a supporter of the SSW rhino protection programme and can boast that we are the largest donor of the total cost of the helicopter programme.
Rhino poaching has severely impacted almost all of the reserves within South Africa, and as a result the Sabi Sand Wildtuin has committed itself to providing a safe haven for rhino. In 2013, after significant rhino losses in the area and across the country the Sabi Sand undertook the implementation of a major rhino protection project aimed at creating a sanctuary for our rhino.
SSW developed a multi-layered security intervention, and invested heavily in Hi-Tec perimeter fencing, boots on the ground, vehicles, K9, security equipment, intelligence and a rigorous community engagement campaign.
Inyati is a photographer’s paradise. The ever-changing skies at dawn and dusk, the fast moving lightning storms in the afternoon and the myriad of fascinating animals, birds and insects keep aspiring and professional photographers alike permanently captivated.
