WHAT TO EXPECT

This journey through Korea is a structured cultural exploration with full days that include a mix of guided visits to historical sites, museums, and natural landmarks.

Korea is seventy percent mountains, and any visit reflects this topography. Expect to walk 3-6 miles per day, often on uneven terrain, with hills and stairs unavoidable at many sites, particularly at temples, palaces, and hiking volcanic formations. Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes with good traction are essential throughout the trip. In some traditional Korean buildings, it is required to remove shoes, therefore socks should be worn at all times.

Our travels include one high-speed train journey between Seoul and Gyeongju, and two domestic flights: from Busan to Jeju Island, and from Jeju back to Seoul.

This is a fully-scheduled trip designed for travelers prepared for moderately active physical activity. Those who prefer a slower pace at any site are welcome to forgo certain activities. This trip rewards curiosity, flexibility, and a willingness to engage with Korea's layered history and diverse landscapes.
