This guided primate safari explores the Rwandan habitat of mountain gorillas and golden monkeys within a chain of 5 volcanoes, just north of Kigali near the border with Uganda.
This safari starts in Kigali, a garden city with bustling markets, an atmospheric Muslim quarter and excellent restaurants.
Spend 3 nights in Parc National des Volcans, northern Rwanda, on the border of Uganda, on a full board basis. The Virungas are a branch of the Albertine Rift and a chain of mostly dormant volcanoes. This is where you'll take part in a mountain gorilla trek, and there is time to do two if you wish. You could also add on other optional activities such as exploring caves, visiting the golden monkeys, and an ex-poacher's village.
