Thank you for your interest in visiting South Africa for an active vacation. These 14 days include the highlights of Cape Town and the Wine Country, fully guided Drakensberg Amphitheatre hike and Kruger walking safari with a short stopover for beach and ocean swimming outside Durban.
This travel proposal is offered as a self-drive program. Visit destinations and attractions that run a bit off the beaten track. We are always ready to help you plan your dream vacation.
Travel proposals will be extended and customized upon request.
Accommodation wishes? The program is planned with 'Comfort' guesthouses. If you wish 'luxury' or 'standard' accommodations, then the offer will be adjusted accordingly.
Family? There are several room layouts e.g. Family room (with double bed and single bed, roll away bed, and sleeper sofa bed), or chalet that sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms, or accommodation in 2 adjoining connecting rooms. Please specify your room preferences.
Activities are adjusted according to your wishes.
Car hire options? We suggest -
- For 1 to 3 participants - group C, CDMR - Toyota Corolla Quest (manual with air conditioning);
- For 4 to 5 participants - Group O, SVMR - Toyota Avanza SX 5dr (manual with air conditioning);
- For 6 to 8 participants - Group N, PVMR - VW T5 / T6 Kombi 5dr (manual with air conditioning)
Note:
Malaria: before arrival, please consult your doctor for appropriate Malaria prophylactic. For prophylaxis sensitive people, malaria-free, Big 5 safari destinations are available such as - the Pilanesberg (e.g. Sun City with game drives into the Pilanesberg Game Reserve); Waterberg Mountains (e.g. Entabeni Conservancy Game Reserve); Eastern Cape (e.g. Addo Elephant National Park).
The availability and season during your scheduled travel dates may affect the final travel price. Where hotels are not available, similar, suitable accommodations are booked.
Once you have chosen to book this itinerary you will receive your travel details at least two weeks before departure to South Africa. Documentation includes - vouchers for overnight stays, activities and booked tours; the daily driving itinerary as well as important contact details.
In addition, you will receive our 'Mobile Code' for Android or iPhone download so that you can follow Google Maps day-by-day directions on your ‘fone/Handy.
On arrival, our representative will greet you for the presentation of a Welcome Pack with road atlas, additional information and assistance to the car rental station or transfer meet point.

Fares, international, regional neither nor the connecting flight Cape Town-Durban; Upgrading of accommodation; Meals not specified; Entrance fees not included; Rental car contract fee, second driver registration, rental car deposit R 4,800 is refundable upon return of the undamaged vehicle; Tips for porters, guides, restaurants are often not included in the bill, and are optional according to level of service satisfaction. Usually a 10% tip is acceptable.
Entrance- and conservation fees for wildlife parks, reserves and national parks, payable on arrival: Kruger National Park, R 372.00 per person per day; Royal Natal National Park, nature conservation fee per person R 40.00.
