Website 2024 - The Migration Safari - Tanzania July to Oct 2024

Northern Tanzania has to be one of the most diverse areas in Africa and one of my favorite safari areas. The safari starts  in Tarangire National Park, which is much drier country, at lower altitude and full of Baobab and Vachellia ( Acacia) woodlands, it is well known for its herds of elephants and buffalo along with some interesting dry country species that are not common here but can be seen like the Lesser Kudu and Beisa Oryx.  From here we would drive up into highland areas where you will explore the spectacle of the Ngorongoro Crater - the World's Largest Intact Caldera, which is packed full of animals and includes the Big 5 as well. You will also be able to see and visit some quite traditional Masai communities that live on the open grasslands with their herds around this area and out on the Serengeti plains . 

We finish our safari on the Serengeti where our tented camp is perfectly placed to be in the middle of one of the seven wonders of the Natural World - the great migration. Seeing these vast herds criss-crossing the plains and then fanning out , all under the watchful eye of the many predators here is an incredible spectacle and for sure one of the most memorable safari experiences you can have.

Some of the extra experiences we can add in to your safari is a Balloon Safari across the Serengeti - an incredible thing to do at sunrise over the top of the migrating herds. 

Linking this safari with a bit of beach time on the East Coast or one of the famous Islands like Zanzibar is easily done as well and a nice way to end your safari with some barefoot beach time and relaxation.
