Chad is one of Africa's largest countries and because of this size it encompasses a wonderful array of habitats ranging from the wet Savannahs in the South to the Dry Sahara. - The Ennedi Plateau in the North East will give you a real Sahara experience and some very specialized creatures along with vast landscapes of wind and sand created sculptures in areas that are uninhabited and unexplored - the whole area is approximately the size of Switzerland so there is a lot to take in here, from ancient rivers that still flow, incredible sand stone features adorned with Rock art painted by people thousands of years ago, some of the largest natural rock archways on the planet and incredible fossil beds. It is a very unique safari experience expertly guided Pierre Paolo Rossi who as a trained geologist and author of books on Rock Art from this area will give you a deep understanding of the Sahara and its complexities, both modern and ancient.
