Days 3 - 5

One of the best kept secrets in New England - Westerly is located in the southwest corner of the state of Rhode Island, right along the border with Connecticut and along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. This charming coastal community in Washington County, features some of the state's most highly visited beaches and tourist attractions. Misquamicut Beach forms the majority of Westerly's coastline, while the elegance of Watch Hill attracts visitors from around the world. Quaint Weekapaug forms Westerly's west end and is home to dozens of mansions, a private beach club and a number of prime spots for surfing.

Days 5 - 7

Located in the southern part of New England, the charming bijou state of Connecticut is known for its lovely coastal cities and its vast expanses of unspoiled countryside dotted with friendly little colonial towns. Days 7 - 9

Lenox is a little town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, which is synonymous with Tanglewood, the spacious estate on the town's outskirts which has long been the summer performance centre of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Music enthusiasts flock here each weekend to enjoy the town's sophisticated atmosphere, stay in the elegant historic inns, and tour the scenic Berkshire Hills. While the centre of the village is home to some lovely colonial buildings occupied by an array of shops and eateries, the surrounding area features the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, where you will find hiking trails winding through meadows and forests, leading to hilltops offering a panoramic view of the Berkshires. Other popular activities in the area include canoeing on the Housatonic River or the sanctuary's lakes; and horse riding, cycling and hiking around the trails in Kennedy Park.

Woodstock

Days 9 - 11

Situated in the naturally scenic state of Vermont, Woodstock is a historic farm town, which serves as the county seat of Windsor County. Historic buildings surrounding the central square of the town, known as the Green, include the pink sandstone Norman Williams Public Library built in 1880 and restored Georgian and Greek Revival homes. Other historical sites include the Billings Farm and Museum, a functioning dairy farm re-creating 19th-century farm life, and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, which contains a Victorian mansion and opportunities to wander beneath the shade of 400-year-old hemlock trees. Visitors can also look forward to seeing a working farm and sampling some free maple syrup and cheese at Sugarbush Farm.
