Day notes

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, clear Tanzania immigration. Entry visa required, obtainable online via the Tanzania visa portal prior to travel.

You will be met in the arrival hall by our local representative, for a road transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge, a one hour drive from the airport.

Day notes

After breakfast today, you depart the highlands with your guide, and drive down on to the Serengeti Plains. Enroute, you can stop at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Enjoy a picnic lunch out on the plains, before arriving at Serengeti Safari Camp in the late afternoon.

An optional activity, would be to hike first thing in the morning, with a local guide, down to the plains below the Entamanu, towards Olduvai. Your guide would then meet up with you at a designated point, to continue the drive on to the Serengeti. It will make for a longer day, though does get you out of the vehicle, and would be a very interesting activity.

Serengeti Safari Camp is located in the Ndutu woodlands on the edge of the southern plains of the Serengeti, this is where the migration herds want to be in January and February.

Day notes

After breakfast, you have a game drive transfer across the Serengeti. Enjoy wildlife viewing a long the way. Arrive at Lemala Nanyukie Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon head out on a safari activity in the eastern Serengeti

Two days of safari activities in the East/central  Serengeti, in an area well known for big cat sightings.

Day notes

After breakfast this morning you will be collected from the hotel by your private Nomad Tanzania guide, who will be looking after you for the next five days. Depart Arusha in your customised 4x4 safari vehicle. Driving out of the Rift Valley and into the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Enroute to Entamanu Ngorongoro, you can stop at Lake Manyara National Park, to experience this forest environment, hippo boardwalk or a forest canopy walk.

There is also the opportunity to hike into Entamanu, along the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. This requires pre planning, as an armed ranger needs to accompany you. It's a beautiful walk along the edge of Africa's most iconic wildlife reserve.

Arrive at Entamanu Ngorongoro in the later afternoon, and in time for dinner.

Day in the Crater - very early in the morning, you depart the lodge with your guide, aiming to be one of the first safari vehicles descending into the crater.

Early morning is a magical time on safari, and to have the crater virtually to yourselves at sunrise, is worth the effort; predators are still on the move, and sightings are uninhibited by other vehicles. 

 The crater floor supports an incredible array of wildlife, and you should expect to see a variety of species including lions, elephants, buffalo and possibly endangered rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor, and return to the lodge in the afternoon, and possibly in time for an evening walk along the Crater rim, or a visit to a Masai village.
