Expert tips:
TIPPING YOUR SAFARI GUIDE (general industry guidelines)
Tipping your safari guide is usually considered customary in Africa but is always at your discretion. It is a delicate and sensitive issue and many people look for tipping guidelines. We have used USD as a familiar currency, however, any of the major and local currencies are accepted – no need to exchange cash for tips. Tips should only be given at the end of your stay, and if you have had a totally satisfactory experience. If you wish, you can place your tip in an envelope with the relevant person’s name on it.
Here's are suggested minimums.
• Transfer drivers: USD2 - 5 per transfer
• Lodge Guides and Day Tour Guides: USD15 per person per day
• Lodge Trackers: USD5 - 10 per person per day (if you have a tracker, not all lodges utilize trackers)
• Lodge staff: the easiest way to tip the lodge's cooks, housekeepers and porters is to use the staff tipping box - the contents of which are shared - at the end of your stay. Work on USD 10 per person per day. If there is someone who has really stood out and provided excellent service, you may want to tip him or her separately - simply put your tip in an envelope with the person's name on it or pass it on via the camp manager.
It is worth considering your tips at home and preparing to have enough smaller denominations of whatever currency you plan to use – change and smaller notes are unlikely to be available in remote parts of Africa.
Included:
Transfers and breakfast.
Day notes
You will be transferred back to the airport [the flight time will be confirmed the day before by Moremi Air directly with the guest house] - please do ask them to confirm the timing if they do not let you know the afternoon before.
The Moremi Air team will assist you through the airport and security and on to the aircraft. Upon arrival in the Central Kalahari, you will be met and transferred to the lodge to settle in. Your guide and or management will explain the daily routine and plan.
Typically on safari you will be woken up early, have a light breakfast with hot drinks, fruit, toast and snacks before heading out at first light. Depending on what you are seeing and conditions, you could spend between 3 – 4 hours before returning to camp for breakfast or brunch. Siesta through the middle of the day and then you may have lunch or a high-tea [each camp operates its own schedule], and then head out again in the afternoon between 3pm and 4pm. Afternoon game drives sometimes go on after dark, depending on park rules, so it is considered a night drive if you do go into the dark where you may view nocturnal creatures or even follow big cats on the hunt. [National Parks have gate times while private concessions do not] Return to camp around 7pm for dinner before heading back to your room for the night.

Expert tips:
In the summer months, game drives at Tau Pan are often at their most rewarding, as seasonal rains transform the pans into green grasslands that attract springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest and other plains game, followed closely by predators such as lion, cheetah and brown hyena. Drives focus on tracking animals across the open pans and along established routes, with sightings shaped by fresh spoor and patient searching rather than high vehicle densities. Bush walks add an intimate dimension to the experience, usually led by the camp guide together with a San Bushman tracker, and concentrate on reading tracks, understanding desert survival skills, medicinal plants and the smaller details of the Kalahari ecosystem. These walks are less about big game encounters and more about connecting deeply with the landscape, offering a fascinating insight into how life thrives in this vast, seemingly austere environment.

Guests can head out on morning, afternoon and full‑day game drives into Chobe National Park in open 4×4 vehicles to see large elephant herds, buffalo, lions and other iconic wildlife. Boat excursions on the Chobe River provide close‑up animal and bird sightings from the water, and when conditions allow, mokoro rides explore shallow channels and floodplains. Guided walking safaris offer a slower, more intimate way to experience tracks, plants and smaller creatures, while night drives in the forest reserve reveal nocturnal animals in action. WALK THE FALLS IN ZIMBABWE
No matter how you decide to visit “The Smoke That Thunders” very few people are ever really prepared for the incredible beauty and mesmerising strength and power of the mighty Victoria Falls. The heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of the precipice above the raging waters is something quite unforgettable. You can make you way along the designated path which takes you to the various 16 view points along the edge, from the devil's cataract, through the rain forest and on to danger point – the sheer magic of the Victoria Falls is that you will not find big barriers or walls to keep you away from the edge and one can really experience the sheer might of them – up close!
You do not need to be guided, there is an informative visitor centre, you need around 2 hours to walk the entire length and all teh viewpoints, which is recommended, you can take longer if you spend time to enjoy each viewpoint, or you can walk at speed and do it quicker.
Entry to Vic Falls National Park is US$50 payable in cash [or card] upon entry.
