WELCOME TO COSTA RICA!

Upon your arrival at the airport  and after passing through immigration and customs go to the exit of the airport terminal, look for a travel representative who will be waiting for you holding a sign  with your name on it.

Arrival at the Juan Santamaria International Airport.

Welcome to Costa Rica!  As you exit the airport you will be met by a representative and transferred to San Gerardo de Dota.

Your driver will provide you with the travel information for your services and review them with you at this time.

Tonight, dinner is on your own. You may enjoy a quiet evening meal at the hotel.

Day 2: San Gerardo de Dota

Join us for a private garden walk through some of the top nature photography sites in the area. Your guide will lead you along paths lined with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, where you can search for elusive birds and other creatures.

Paraiso del Quetzal Tour (L)

Highlights: Variety of cloud forest wildlife. A privileged place to look for toucanets and quetzals. Beautiful lookouts to the Pacific Ocean.

Today’s nature walk explores one of the most famous sites  to look for quetzals in Costa Rica.
Join your expert guide equipped with spotting scope and bird guide along paths bound by beautiful flowers and verdant plants to look for the elusive quetzal and other birds of the misty forest. Walk with  ups and downs that sometimes can be steep. 
After lunch there is time to look for a great variety of brilliant hummingbirds at their feeders.

Day 3: Osa Peninsula

Drake Bay is a tropical paradise where rainforests meet the ocean’s edge, framing the bay in a verdant embrace. This stunning location serves as the gateway to the wonders of Corcovado National Park’s San Pedrillo Ranger Station and offers exceptional snorkeling and diving adventures at Caño Island. Drake Bay also boasts some of Costa Rica’s most luxurious eco-lodges, perfect for immersing yourself in this natural splendor.

Corcovado National Park, described by National Geographic as “the most biologically intense place on Earth,” offers incredible experiences. Excursions can be led from San Pedrillo Ranger Station in the park’s northern section. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you into the dense jungle comprising primary and secondary forests and introduce you to the area’s highlights. One trail leads to a large waterfall, perfect for capturing photos or enjoying a relaxing moment.

Day 4: Osa Peninsula

San Pedrillo Station Corcovado National Park Hike 3hr 5 miles Moderate/Challenging

After a hearty breakfast, we head today to Corcovado National Park. Prepare yourself for a wet landing, dry bags are recommended for camera gear! Trails begin along pristine beaches, wind through deep rain forest, and follow riverbeds to magnificent waterfalls and swimming holes. Your guided walk in will bring you into a wonderland of an ancient, steamy forest dominated by huge trees.   Listen to your guide the fascinating stories about life in the rainforest. After lunch there will be time to explore the beach or to just relax. In the afternoon you will go back to your lodge.

Highlights: This remote, wilderness park is one of the jewels of the Costa Rican national parks! The park is home to wildlife including scarlet macaws, toucans, parrots, all four monkey species found in the country. Tapirs, pumas and jaguars-although shy and elusive are sometimes possible to see!

Day 6: Southern Costa Rica

Highlights: Experience the largest mangrove system in Costa Rica. Look for caimans, monkeys, and water birds on a special boat safari!

Today enjoy a half day wildlife experience in the mangroves, wetlands, and narrow canals of the Sierpe River! On this boat safari, you may spot monkeys, caimans, waterbirds, and other creatures. Wrap up the day investigating the famous Osa stone spheres, a mystery of Costa Rican archaeology!
