1. Signature Hamiltons Tented Camp - Suite Exterior
All 6 spacious luxury tents are decorated in true "Out of Africa" style with antique style slipper baths and rain showers and flowing mosquito nets. The recent addition of exclusive Sala lounges for each tent boasts leather couches and hospitality cabinets and include mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities. Private plunge pools are suspended upon the extended teak decks which have been positioned to enjoy the breath-taking views.
Each tent is fitted with a radio, hairdryer, ceiling fan, air-conditioner, and personal safe.
Guests are accommodated in six exceptionally private luxury elevated tents overlooking the N’waswitsontso River. From your own private deck, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush that derives its existence from the river.
Traditional fittings and features such as old brass light switches, steamer trunks with vintage labels revealing exciting journeys and sepia-stained photographs enhance the tradition and style of this ‘turn-of-the-century’ luxury safari tent; modern comforts such as electricity, air conditioning, and an outdoor shower the only clues that we live in a different time.
The décor is light and neutral; teak furniture and floors, gilded mirrors and crisp white linens deliver a classy luxury tent experience enhanced by the panoramic bush and river views that begin at the edge of the deck.

As one of the first private concessions in the Kruger National Park, Mluwati has worked tirelessly to ensure the sustainability of this pristine wilderness that for over 100 years has been a sanctuary for over 114 reptiles, 34 amphibians and 147 mammal species, including Africa’s Big Five. With some of Kruger’s most spectacular landscapes and an extraordinary variety of wildlife, bird life and plant life within the concession, each safari experience is unique.
Guests can enjoy a morning and afternoon safari in open 4 x 4 vehicles. The early morning safaris are very rewarding with light for photography. Lions are still lively and on the move at this time, antelope are more energetic and an abundance of birds may also be seen. The afternoon safaris provide an opportunity to see nocturnal animals and perhaps even the elusive Leopard.
During the winter months the morning safaris depart at 06h00 and the afternoon safaris depart at 16h00. In summer the times change to 05h00 for the morning and 17h00 for the afternoon safaris.
Tea and coffee is served before the morning safari departs and in the afternoon you will enjoy high tea before setting off.
Join your guide on a one and a half hour walk in our Private Concession and get to know the smaller intricacies of nature. Here you will be able to smell, touch and feel the natural surroundings you have travelled so far for. Your guide will spend time teaching you more about the tracks and signs of the bush as well as about the smaller animals often overlooked in pursuit of the Big Five.
Booking procedure: Please notify your manager the previous evening during dinner or discuss with your guide during your afternoon safari.
Terms & Conditions: Participants must wear flat soled closed shoes. (No high heels, flops or sandals) Neutral coloured clothing to be worn. No strong perfume/cologne to be worn. Venture by boat to the nearby pinnacle reef for a snorkeling trip, and you could swim with the Bottlenose Dolphins that regularly glide through these waters – a sublime experience you won’t easily forget. From July to November each year, you may encounter the majestic Humpback whales in their natural habitat as they visit us on their annual migration. Whale watching is conducted from the comfort of our snorkeling boat as we observe the whales blowing, breaching, lob tailing and playing. Later in the season, you may encounter their newborns too!
Cost as an add-on: $90 per person, per trip (minimum 4 and maximum 10 guests)
Our resort is home to one of the richest turtle nesting sites in southern Mozambique. Between November and February each year, guests have the opportunity to witness an extraordinary feat of nature first-hand. Loggerhead and Leatherback Turtles head to this stretch of coast to lay their eggs, and, a few weeks later, the hatchlings make their first-ever voyage to the ocean. The resort has partnered with the Southern Mozambique Marine Turtle Nesting Monitoring, Tagging & Conservation Programme to monitor and protect these remarkable creatures.
The perfect outing for the early-morning intrepid adventurer. Meet your Game Ranger in the reading room for early morning coffee & rusks to depart at 05h00. Set out for the Maputo Special Reserve, which forms part of the Lebombo Transfrontier Conservation Area. Here, you may see a variety of African antelope species, rich birdlife and possibly the rare black-backed jackal – and there is a great chance of seeing elephants, of course! A light packed breakfast is to be enjoyed in the reserve, most usually at the lake’s edge and perhaps meet some flamingos!
Cost as an add-on: $90 per person, per trip.
Hop onto one of our thick-wheeled fat bikes and cycle along the shoreline. It’s a wonderful way to explore our secluded bay – and great exercise too!
