Golden Africa Safaris provides exclusive, tailor-made mobile safaris throughout Botswana allowing our guests to spend time in the heart of the bush experiencing nature up close. In the comfort of your own safari camp and with the knowledge and experience of your private guide you will travel across the best of Botswana. 

All itineraries are put together by us personally, using our vast experience of the bush and of the African safari industry to ensure you experience the ultimate safari.

Terms and Conditions

Itinerary Terms and Conditions

Notes applicable to all safaris:                                                                                   

  1. Single supplement on accommodation of extra 50% applies from the second and subsequent single travellers.                                                                                
  2. No more than 12 pax total in national parks & game reserves, including tour leaders / private guides.                                                                                  
  3. All safaris operate based on a minimum of 4 pax, maximum of 12 pax. For 3 pax or less, 4 pax will be charged.                                                                                
  4. Children under 6 years old on application.                                                                                       
  5. Vehicles: 1 vehicle and guide for 4 - 6 guests, 2 vehicles and guides for 7 - 12 guests.                                   
  6. Private vehicles outside of point 5 on application.                                                                                        
  7. Guests should travel with soft-sided bags, and their total weight for hold and hand luggage, should not exceed 20kg per person travelling.                                                                           

Light aircraft seat rate transfers :                                                   

  1. Rates are subject to government fee increases on Navigation Fees, Landing fees, VAT and Departure Tax. 
  2.  Rates are subject to major exchange rate fluctuations.                                                                                          
  3. Transfers may include up to 2 stops per destination.                                                                                  
  4. Luggage is restricted to a maximum of 20 Kg per person in a soft bag , including laptops and hand luggage.                                                           
  5. Passengers over 110 Kg may have to purchase an extra seat - please inform us prior to travel if this is the case.                                                                                
  6. Rates will be subjected to fuel surcharges if fuel increases more than 15% above current prices.                                                                                             
  7. The standard cancellation fees will apply as per the main terms and conditions.                                                                                          
  8. Groups of more than 4 Guests may be split between aircraft.                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Booking procedures:                                                                                     

1. Provisional bookings will be held for 14 days, at which time the reservation will be released, unless we are otherwise notified by the agent or guest.                                                                                             

2. Safaris are booked and confirmed only on receipt of a 20% non-refundable advanced deposit payment. This deposit payment is due within 14 days of making the confirmation of a booking.                                                                                

3. The balance is due no later than 60 days prior to commencement of the safari.                                                                                              

4. Price changes may occur with prior notice should this be absolutely necessary.                                                                                             

5. Should the agent or guests not make said payment within the allocated time, Golden Africa Safaris reserves the right to cancel the booking and confirm another booking in its place.                             

6. Should a booking be confirmed and the number of guests be reduced, the standard cancellation fees will apply.                                                                                               

7. It is advisable to adhere to our booking conditions to maximise best possible preparation and service to our safari guests.                                                                                

8. Kindly note, unless the above terms are met, we reserve the right to automatically release the reservation.                                              

9. Ensure that all travellers take out comprehensive travel insurance covering them for personal effects, personal accident, medical and emergency travel expenses, cancellation and curtailment.                                                                                

10. All guest information, including dietaries, allergies, travel & medical insurance, emergency contact details, ages and weights (for flights if over 110 kg) must be provided to Golden Africa Safaris no later than 14 days before the commencement of the safari, as per our guest information form, to be filled out one per person travelling.                                                                                        

11. Extras must be settled on check-out by guests.                                                                                           

Travel requirements:                                                                                    

It is the travelling client’s responsibility to ensure that passports, visas, travel permits, inoculations or any other requirements for the tour, are in order and obtained well in advance. Additional costs incurred by the client, or Golden Africa Safaris on the client’s behalf, as a result of any failure by the client to comply with such requirements, will be for the clients expense.                                                                                 

Insurance:                                                                                          

All insurance is solely the responsibility of the client. This insurance should include, but not be limited to, the following eventualities: cancellation or curtailment of the trip, emergency evacuation expenses, all medical expenses, repatriation expenses, damage/loss/theft of personal belongings and baggage, including money. Golden Africa Safaris, as well as their employees, agents or representatives will take no responsibility for any costs or losses incurred to client with regard to, but not limited to any of the above eventualities.                                                                                  

PLEASE NOTE: Clients will not be permitted to travel on safari unless they have current and valid medical/travel insurance covering them for emergency evacuation & medical treatment, details of which are to be provided in advance.                                                                                                                                                                                          

Cancellation:                                                                                     

Any cancellation of a booking must be in writing to confirm cancellation.                                                                               

Cancellation charges shall apply in the following circumstances:                                                                                 

• Cancellation 121 days or more prior to the safari starting is subject to US $250 fee per person.                                                             

• Cancellation 120 to 91 days prior to the safari starting, 20% of the total cost is forfeited.                                                                                            

• Cancellation 90 to 61 days prior to the safari starting, 50% of the total cost is forfeited.                                                                               

• Cancellation 60 to 31 days prior to the safari starting, 80% of the total cost is forfeited.                                                                               

• Cancellation 30 days or less prior to the safari starting and “no shows”, 100% cancellation fee applies.                                                                                 

PLEASE NOTE: Should clients fail to arrive on the due arrival date, start their trip after departure or leave before its completion, no refund will be made.                                                                                      

                                                                                               

Company responsibility:                                                                               

Neither Golden Africa Safaris (the Company) nor any person or agent acting for, through or on behalf of the Company shall be liable for any damage or loss whatsoever arising from any cause whatsoever, and shall particularly not be responsible for loss or damage arising from any errors or omissions contained in its brochure or other literature, loss or damage caused by delays, sickness, death, theft or injury.                                                                                       

In addition the Company shall at all times have the right to cancel a safari or the remainder thereof as well as make any alteration to itinerary, route, accommodation, price or other details, and in the event of a trip becoming impossible by weather, government law or interference, strike, war, force majeure or any other circumstance whatsoever that is beyond the Company’s control. Extra expenses arising as a result thereof shall be for the client’s expense.                                                                                            

                                                                                               

Itinerary Changes:                                                                                          

Golden Africa Safaris will at all times try their utmost to adhere to the original itinerary and schedules. It should however be borne in mind that the Company reserves the right to make alterations to routes or campsites as governed by changing conditions. Such conditions could be as a result of seasonal rainfall/flooding, fire, animal movements/mortality, closure of Parks, airfields or other booking problems. No refunds are given regarding but not limiting to above circumstances or changes that are beyond the Company’s control and necessitate alternative arrangements being made to ensure the continuation/safety and or further participation and enjoyment of the trip.                                                                                               

                                                                                               

Company authority:                                                                                       

All Golden Africa Safaris tour guides act as Company representatives. Any decision made by the tour guide will be deemed final on all matters. The Company or its representative may at any time and without refund, if it considers a client unsuitable for the trip, exclude a client from the tour.  Reasons may include but are not limited to: illegal or unlawful acts, mental or physical illness, addiction or disruption and annoyance to other clients.                                                                                

Golden Africa Safaris reserves the right to alter an itinerary at its discretion. Golden Africa Safaris cannot be held responsible for changes to an itinerary due to acts beyond our control such as acts of God, bad weather conditions and the results thereof, unsafe travelling conditions and unstable political conditions. It is at the discretion of Golden Africa Safaris to assess these conditions and base our decisions on our findings. Golden Africa Safaris will in such instances endeavour to provide an alternate itinerary and where possible guarantee a substitute safari. The agent and the guest will be bound to accept these changes as long as it is in keeping with the standard and conditions of undesirable itinerary, or risk losing any payments already made.                                                                               

Golden Africa Safaris reserves the right to cancel or change an itinerary with the agent at any time before the full payment has been received. Should Golden Africa Safaris decide that a certain itinerary will not, or is not working for us, Golden Africa Safaris reserves the right to discontinue the itinerary.                                                                                  

                                                                                                                                                                                              

Arrival and departure times:                                                                                      

Rates quoted for guests are from after 2pm on date of arrival, to after breakfast (leaving camp latest 8 am) on final day of the itinerary. This is to avoid additional Park fees due to strict Park regulations.                                                                                    

Early/late arrival/departure times may incur a surcharge.                                                                                                                                                                                     

Payment:                                                                                           

Any and all charges incurred in making payment to Golden Africa Safaris shall be borne by the booking entity, irrespective of mode or form of payment made.                                                                               

No credit cards are accepted.                                                                                    

The invoice payment and banking instructions are to be followed carefully to avoid delays.                                                                                           

The onus is on the client to ensure payment is effected and to confirm payment details directly to Golden Africa Safaris.                                                                                

                                                                                               

Indemnity: 

All clients will be required to sign a waiver and indemnity form upon arrival, before the commencement of the safari.                                                                                                                     

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions:                                                                Payment and receipt of a 20% non-refunadable deposit will be considered to be a full acceptance of all terms & conditions.
