„Als je op wandelsafari bent, worden alle barrières tussen jou en de omgeving weggenomen. Tijdens een rit zijn die barrières misschien minimaal, maar je bent nog steeds een stap verwijderd van wat er om je heen gebeurt. Tijdens het lopen ben je beter in staat om alles in je op te nemen. je voelt de aarde en ruikt de lucht. Niet alleen kun je tijdens het rijden veel aspecten van de wildernis observeren die je mist, maar je ervaart ook een grotere verbinding — een diepere waardering van waar je bent en de betekenis van de omgeving waarin je je bevindt. Er is niets spannender dan leeuwen vanuit de wind te naderen of olifanten langs je heen te zien lopen op weg naar het water. Het is niet te beschrijven, je moet het ervaren!”

Nkonzi Camp features two hides designed for immersive wildlife viewing. The first hide is strategically located next to a permanent water source, easily accessible by vehicle or on foot during a walking safari. Departing camp at 6:00 AM, we set off in our open game viewers for an exhilarating full-day drive through the stunning landscapes of South Luangwa National Park. With ample time on our side, we’ll enjoy a scenic morning tea break and a leisurely lunch amidst nature, allowing you to relax in the heat of the day and absorb your surroundings. The full-day safari gives us the opportunity to venture further into the park, exploring its incredibly diverse habitats. This significantly increases your chances of witnessing extraordinary wildlife sightings, including some of the park’s iconic animals in their natural behaviour. As the day winds down, we aim to return to camp in time to bask in the breathtaking sunset unfolding before Nkonzi Camp, providing a perfect end to a day of adventure. Following the stunning views, you’ll be treated to an early dinner prepared with fresh, local ingredients, allowing you to reflect on the day’s experiences with fellow guests. We vertrekken om 06.00 uur na een licht ontbijt in de prachtige omgeving van de droge rivierbedding voor het kamp. Onze safari's zijn open voor wildkijkers, zodat gasten rondom een uitzicht hebben op de vogels, bomen, dieren in het wild en de schoonheid van het gebied rond Nkonzi Camp.

Halverwege de rit genieten we van een theestop in de ochtend, zodat gasten hun benen kunnen strekken en kunnen genieten van een zelfgemaakte muffin.

Game drives in de ochtend keren meestal terug naar het kamp tussen 10.30 en 11.00 uur, zodat je de tijd hebt om te ontspannen of te douchen voor de lunch in de middag.

We verlaten het kamp om 15.30 - 16.00 uur voor onze middagsafari, afhankelijk van het seizoen na de afternoon tea. We stoppen voor een zonsondergang voor een beruchte Afrikaanse zonsondergang. Zodra de zon onder is gaan we verder met een spotlicht op zoek naar nachtdieren.

Aankomst in het kamp rond 19.30 uur, op tijd voor het diner om 20.00 uur.
