The hotel was designed by renowned Chilean architect Cazú Zegers and associated architects Rodrigo Ferrer and Roberto Benavente. It was created to become one with the surrounding landscape, removing the boundaries between person and place. Constructed with sustainable lenga wood from local forests it forms a structure that seems to have been carved by the Patagonian winds, resembling an enormous prehistoric animal basking on the shores of the lake.
