Parador Resort & Spa
Pacifica Spa
Watch the monkeys play as you get a pedicure or listen to the toucans sing as you relax through your massage!
The Pacifica Spa is an oasis of calm, situated near a labyrinth of jungle trails, which lead to imposing panoramic cliffs. Spa practitioners offer an inspired menu of wellness services in the air-conditioned comfort of five treatment rooms. Includes: Private lockers, plush bathrobes, complimentary fruit and beverages, relaxation and yoga areas, steam room, plunge pool and Swiss shower.
Manuel Antonio National Park
One of the nation’s ecological gems and the second most visited nature reserve in Costa Rica; famed Manuel Antonio National Park is a “don’t miss” excursion while visiting our beautiful area.
Under the aegis of professional certified naturalists, this is an easy and relaxing trek over well marked trails that will introduce you to the varied flora and fauna of our rich rainforests. Although many of the animals will be clearly visible (including squirrel, white face and howler monkeys, sloths, toucans and more), the guide is armed with a high-powered telescopic lens that will allow you to view resident wildlife obscured by the lush jungle. He or she will also share extensive information about everything you see.
From the park´s entrance, you will journey on the main “Forest Trail” for an hour to 1 ½ hours, which will lead you to the park´s spectacular white sand beaches where you will take a short break (one-hour beach stop and swim, but you will have a few minutes to take a dip if you want).
Parador’s free shuttles run several times a day (check schedules with us) so you can easily get back to the hotel in the afternoon.
This is an extremely educational and enjoyable tour for the entire family. As one recent guest attested: “I’ve been traveling through Costa Rica for three weeks and have seen more wildlife in these few hours in one place than during my entire time in the rest of the country.”
Two Wheels “Tico” Village & Waterfall Tour
Enjoy a guided bicycle tour of the small rural town of Portasol about 30 minutes from Quepos. Visit the local school which has made huge efforts in sustainability which is a vital part of communities across the country. Stop at the characterful “pulpería” which is the ‘local convenience store’ where all the locals meet daily to socialize and to buy their groceries.
This visit will provide insight into rural life of local Costa Ricans. From here travel to a small farm for a short walk to a waterfall for a swim, as well as a typical snack of cheesy corn tortillas. For those taking this tour in the afternoon we recommend completing the day with a visit to Matapalo Beach, just a 15-minute drive away to watch the sunset. Enjoy morning of afternoon visits, duration is approximately 4 hours plus the sunset visit to Matapalo Beach.
Nature Hike on Parador´s Jungle Trails | Bird Watching
This two-hour guided nature tour through Parador´s ten acres of lush jungle trails is offered twice a day except for Mondays – which is the day Manuel Antonio National Park is closed. A certified professional guide will lead you through fertile secondary rainforest inhabited by a vast array of Indigenous wildlife where you will likely encounter brilliantly-hued tropical birds (including toucans, parrots and macaws), our resident species of monkeys (Squirrel, white-face and howler), two and three-toed sloths, giant iguanas and other native reptiles. If lucky, you might also spot an elusive Margay (Caucel in Spanish), a wildcat in the puma family.
Our experienced professional guide is equipped with a powerful telescope for better viewing and will share his broad knowledge of the area’s flora and fauna. This is a great (and convenient!) educational activity for nature lovers of all ages.
*Please note – although this is a fairly easy trek, it is recommended that participants be in reasonable physical condition.
