Okavango Origins
Okavango Origins is a classic safari camp in the world-class northern Okavango Delta. The camp boasts world class wildlife, an intimate and wild setting, and comfortable amenities. Each of the 4 guest tents are equipped with overhead lighting, power points, comfortable king-sized beds (or singles upon request), hot and cold water, flush toilets, and wifi.
We pride ourselves on the quality of game viewing at our camp. We use top of the line custom game viewers, with a maximum of 6 guests per vehicle. Each vehicle is equipped with a guide and tracker team, and our concession location allows for ethical off-roading. We also offer armed bush walks, and will offer mokoro in 2025. All of these activities are led by guides who are Bukakhwe Bushmen, and literally grew up in the area of the Okavango where they now guide.
Okavango Origins is a partnership with the Bukakhwe Cultural Conservation Trust, which represents Gudigwa Village. The Bukakhwe are a tribe of Bushmen, who lived in the area where we now operate until they were moved to Gudigwa Village in the 1980s. The objective of our project is to make good on the promise that tourism will offset the loss of their traditional way of life.
