Pom Pom

Being in a private concession in the Okavango Delta means Pom Pom Camp and its (maximum) 18 guests have exclusive access to Africa's most pristine and unspoilt wilderness area. One of the oldest camps in the Okavango Delta. It has stood the test of time and is still a fan favourite for all the right reasons.

Pom Pom Camp is a small, intimate and comfortable safari lodge in an amazing location inside the Okavango Delta on the Xudum River system. On the western border of the Moremi Game Reserve. Surrounded by permanent waterways and overlooking a lagoon - fringed with dreamy Ilala Palms and papyrus - Pom Pom Camp offers all the exclusivity of many dearer luxury safari lodges in the delta.

The rooms are Meru-styled East African safari tents: an elevated wooden deck supports a large canvas awning beneath which another canvas tent is stretched explorer-style beneath a dense grove of trees. The deck extends over the water to form a private, shady balcony and out back an en suite bathroom with a roofless - though completely private - shower.

Flying over the delta to land at Pom Pom Camp, you will get an idea of just how remote this safari lodge is. And then you'll marvel at how relative luxury presides in such wild and raw circumstances. The living area has a lovely fireside gathering area, a covered high table dining area and comfortable chairs dotted about looking out through the open-sided thatched structure to the amazing Okavango Delta scenery that starts beneath your feet and extends as far as Earth's curvature will allow - or the nearest elephant.
