PROVISIONAL BOOKINGS

Held for 14 days, after which time the booking agent is required to release or confirm. Peak period booking will be held for 7 days after which time the booking agent is required to release or confirm. A 20% refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking.

CONFRIMED BOOKINGS

Once confirmed with a 20% deposit, the booking is held with status of ‘CONFIRMED WITH REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT’ until any of the following becomes true:

  • The booking is cancelled in writing by the agent.
  • Another request is received with overlapping dates. At such a time, the 20% refundable deposit must be converted to a 20% non-refundable deposit. At this stage, the booking status changes to ‘CONFIRMED WITH COMMITMENT’. In such an event, RETURN Africa will contact the client and give them the option to either confirm with the non-refundable commitment fee or reschedule their dates, or, failing that, to release the booking.

FINAL PAYMENT

Any outstanding balance on the total reservation value shall be required to be settled 60 days prior to arrival.

Failure to pay the balance within this period will incur a late payment penalty calculated as 3% of the booking total compounded every week the payment is outstanding.

The amount stated on the invoice needs to be received by RETURN Africa in full prior to the guests’ arrival.

All bank/credit card charges are to be settled and recovered by the client.

Payments must be made in ZAR. Extras can be paid for at the property by cash, Visa or MasterCard.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be received and acknowledged by RETURN Africa in writing. Cancellations of bookings for which no “commitment fee” has been paid will carry no cancellation fees. Cancellations of bookings (for any reason other than a WHO pandemic advisory that directly impacts the booking) for which a commitment fee or full payment has been received will incur the following cancellation fees:

  • if cancelled between confirmation and 61 days prior to arrival, the 20% commitment fee is forfeited.
  • if cancelled 60 days or less prior to arrival, the full reservation value is forfeited.

All cancelled bookings that qualify for a refund, will be refunded less a 5% handling fee.

PANDEMIC DISCLAIMER

RETURN Africa will allow postponement of a booking for up to 12 months, if travel is cancelled with a commitment fee or 60 days or less prior to arrival due to a WHO-recognised pandemic directly impacting the guests’ ability to travel (e.g., lockdown, no flights, guest not allowed to board a flight, guest falls ill due to a pandemic and unable to travel).

In the event of a WHO-recognised pandemic directly impacting the ability of RETURN Africa to meet its obligations with respect to the booking, all monies received, including the commitment fee, will be fully refunded (e.g., lockdown in RSA, government restrictions on trade). Any refund is given at the discretion of RETURN Africa management and a 3% handling fee will be charged.

BREAKAGE DEPOSIT

A Breakage Deposit as indicated with the rates will be charged on all bookings where indicated. Such Breakage Deposit shall be held as a deposit on behalf of the guest in RETURN Africa’s account. RETURN Africa will have the right to apply the whole or a portion thereof towards payment of any liability of whatever nature for which the Guest is responsible, including but not limited to damages caused to the premises, replacement of items missing in inventory, charges for additional services not settled by the Guest and legal fees, if applicable. RETURN Africa shall retain the Breakage Deposit until all repairs and/or replacements have been finalised. Should no repairs and/or replacements be necessary, the Breakage Deposit will be refunded within fifteen days of the Guest’s departure date. If the Breakage Deposit is insufficient to cover the costs referred to above, RETURN Africa reserves the right to claim any further amount due directly from the Guest.

INSURANCE

All travelers are strongly advised to take out travel insurance cover and emergency medical insurance.
