CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
To protect our reservation, we must provide the Tanzanian tour operator with passenger counts and 25% non-refundable deposits upon booking and full payment 75 days in advance. Once final payment has been made all of the tour cost is non-refundable in the event of cancellation unless insurance coverage applies. No substitutions are allowed, ad no refunds or credits will be given for individuals tours not taken, unless cancelled by Boutique Safari. Tours operate rain or shine.
Visas required for Tanzania
New Tanzania Insurance Requirements:
From 1 October 2026, all guests arriving in mainland Tanzania, whether by air, land, or sea, will be required to possess valid mandatory NIC Inbound Travel Insurance.
The cover is designed to protect visitors against unforeseen risks during their stay and to ensure access to essential emergency services, including coverage for emergency medical expenses arising from illness or accident, emergency medical evacuation to the nearest appropriate medical facility, and repatriation to the country of origin in cases of serious illness, injury, or death, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy and applicable laws and regulations.
The policy, which covers mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, covers multiple entries for stays of up to 92 days and can be extended.
This new policy has an impact on the mandatory Zanzibar Inbound Travel Insurance, and which policy is applied for depends on whether the guest arrives in Zanzibar or mainland Tanzania:
- If guests arrive in mainland Tanzania and proceed to Zanzibar, they are only required to obtain NIC Inbound Travel Insurance, and are no longer required to obtain ZIC Inbound Travel Insurance for entry into Zanzibar.
- If guests arrive in Zanzibar and proceed to mainland Tanzania, they are only required to obtain ZIC Inbound Travel Insurance, and are not to obtain NIC Inbound Travel Insurance for entry into mainland Tanzania.
It is mandatory for all travellers to apply for Inbound Travel Insurance, regardless of their own travel insurance or medical insurance. The policy can be purchased on arrival or online before arrival at USD 44 per adult, USD 22 per child between 3 - 18 years (infants under 3 years are exempt).
We highly recommend applying at least 48 hours before arrival to avoid any delays or issues at immigration.
All travelers should still have their own travel insurance to cover their trip, and this Inbound Travel Insurance is merely an extra, government-mandated insurance.
