Enjoy this premium wildlife and cultural journey through Tanzania. This itinerary is designed for mid January to end of February, focusing on the Southern and Central Serengeti during the wildebeest migration and calving season.
The Serengeti, encompassing approximately 14,763 km2 (5,700 sq mi) of land teeming with wildlife, hosts the second largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world. Our incredible wildlife experience will encompass Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, as well as Ndutu/Lake Masek area, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Embark on this unforgettable adventure to witness the beauty of the African wilderness in style, complete with excellent, authentic accommodations, delicious cuisine, and expert guidance.
NOTE: An overnight or day trip can be added to visit the Engaruka English Medium Primary (EEMP) School Project.
The EEMP school provides quality English-based education to pastoralist Maasai children and prepares them for the national secondary school entrance exams. The school and its approach are unique in that it provides an English language-based primary school education to Maasai youth. The EEMP school also serves as a safe home for vulnerable girls who for different reasons are denied their rights for education in exchange for dowry and child labor.

TIPPING
Best to bring US cash in smaller bills - US cash is the currency for tourism in Tanzania. You won’t need much, if any local shillings. If you wish to change money, all hotels do it at the bank rate. They don’t gouge at all.
If you use a credit card at a lodge/camp (which you can), they add a surcharge to pay for their card fees. We usually pay in $US cash. Rarely is the bill more than $30 or $40 dollars as drinks are not expensive.
Bring $US 5s and 1s for tipping lodge staff (i.e. porters, house cleaning staff, waiters). Staff aren’t paid well and truly appreciate our tips. The going rate is $5 per room for house cleaning, $1 per bag for porters and $ 3-$5 for great service from dining staff.
For your safari guide and driver the minimum rate is $10 per person per day for the professional guide and $5 per person per day for the driver. ($30 per couple per day).
