Itinerary Terms and Conditions
Confirmation and enlistment process:
After sending us a booking confirmation, please fill the booking form, and return it to us filled. After receiving the filled documents, we will send you a confirmation of receipt.
When all services have been confirmed we will send you a detailed reservation status.
If you have any special needs due to medical issues, special dietary requirements or simply because of a special occasion during your travel dates, please make sure to advise us as early as possible in advance to make sure that we are able to make the appropriate arrangements for you.
Before your trip:
It is mandatory to consult a tropical medicine specialist prior to your travel, in regard to any medical requirement that might relate to your travel plan. For information about medical requirements in Tanzania please follow this link. (We recommend to start with this process as soon as possible)
It is mandatory to cover yourself and your travel companions with travel insurance, including medical evacuation cover. We also highly recommend that you cover yourself with cancellation and amendment insurance.
About 2 weeks before your travel dates we will send you a final program that will include:
- Contact list for accommodation and relevant personnel
- The final tour program
- Service vouchers (where needed)
- Domestic flight tickets (Where needed)
- Tipping guide lines
- Status report
Payment terms:
Safaris are booked and confirmed by the Company only upon written acknowledgment of receipt by the Company, of twenty percent (20%) of the total safari cost.
The balance of the safari cost for a Safari Group is due no later than forty-five (45) days before the travel date.
Payments can be made either by bank telegraphic transfer (Usd$ only), or by online payment (Stripe), in which case a supplement of 3% on the paid sum will apply.
By filling the booking form and sending your confirmation you accept that additionally the African destination general terms and conditions apply on all our tours.
Any cancellation of a reservation must be in writing and shall only be effective upon its acknowledged receipt by African destination.
For each cancellation that is acknowledged in writing by African destination sixty (60) or more days prior to the start of a safari, up to twenty percent (20%) may be retained by African destination as cancellation fees.
For each cancellation that is acknowledged in writing by African destination thirty (30) days or more prior to the start of a safari but less than sixty (60) days, up to fifty percent (50%) may be retained by African destination as cancellation fees.
For each cancellation that is acknowledged in writing by African destination less than thirty (30) days prior to the start of a safari, up to a hundred percent (100%) of the total safari cost, may be retained by African destination as cancellation fees.
Any refund made above and beyond the general cancellation terms set above shall be at African destination sole discretion.
IMPORTANT: In some trips, particularly those planned for festive or peak seasons in some of the more popular African destinations (I.e. Botswana and Tanzania), the cancellation terms of particular suppliers might differ from the above, in such a case we will specify this in our correspondence with you, in such a case these conditions will replace the above terms.

Booking & Payments
A booking is confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit.
The balance of the booking must be paid no later than forty-five (45) days prior to travel.
Bookings made within sixty (60) days of travel require full payment at the time of confirmation.
Changes & Amendments
Changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability and approval.
Date changes may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.
Changes to participant numbers, accommodation, routing, or activities may result in revised pricing.
Cancellations
Cancellation charges may apply as follows, up to a maximum of:
More than sixty (60) days prior to commencement of travel: up to 20% of the total booking value.
Thirty (30) to sixty (60) days prior to commencement of travel: up to 50% of the total booking value.
Less than thirty (30) days prior to commencement of travel: up to 100% of the total booking value.
Cancellation charges are assessed based on the circumstances of the booking, supplier commitments, and irrecoverable costs incurred. Full cancellation provisions are contained in our Terms & Conditions.
Travel Insurance
All travellers must hold valid Travel & Medical Insurance for the duration of their trip, including cover for:
Medical treatment and hospitalisation;
Emergency medical evacuation;
Medical repatriation; and
Emergency assistance services.
Travellers participating in activities such as walking safaris, diving, trekking, or other adventure activities must ensure that their policy provides appropriate cover.
We recommend that travellers review their policy carefully prior to travel and ensure that it provides adequate cover for their planned activities.
Failure to maintain adequate insurance does not alter the booking Terms & Conditions and may result in participation being refused.
Cancellation / Force Majeure Insurance
Travel & Medical Insurance and Cancellation Insurance are different products.
Cancellation and Force Majeure Insurance may provide protection against certain financial losses arising from events unrelated to illness or injury. While not mandatory, travellers should consider whether such cover is appropriate for their circumstances.
Passports, Visas & Health Requirements
Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they hold:
Valid passports satisfying the entry, transit, and exit requirements of all countries included within the itinerary;
Required visas and permits;
Any required vaccinations or health documentation; and
All other documentation required for travel.
Any costs arising from incorrect, incomplete, or expired documentation remain the traveller's responsibility.
Safari Travel
Safari travel takes place in remote wilderness environments and may be affected by weather, wildlife movements, conservation requirements, operational considerations, government regulations, and other factors beyond our control.
Wildlife sightings, migrations, photographic opportunities, and specific natural events cannot be guaranteed.
Reasonable changes to accommodation, routing, activities, guides, aircraft, vehicles, or other travel arrangements may occasionally be necessary due to operational requirements, safety considerations, weather conditions, supplier availability, conservation requirements, government restrictions, road conditions, aircraft availability, park regulations, Force Majeure events, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Liability
We take pride in providing professionally planned and operated travel experiences and exercise reasonable care in arranging your travel.
Many services are provided by independent third-party suppliers, and safari travel involves inherent risks. Our liability is governed by our full Terms & Conditions and the laws of Mauritius.
Governing Terms
By paying a deposit or travelling under a booking, you confirm acceptance of the full African Destinations Terms & Conditions.
