At Umani Springs, nestled within the lush Kibwezi Forest, you will experience intimate interactions with the gentle giants as you enjoy the early morning stockade visit, a lively midday mud bath, and an evening return to the stockade. This is a special chance to meet orphans such as Kapei and Kiombo, who are thriving in their new environment. You can relax in the serene surroundings, take in the beauty of the forest, and observe the orphans forming strong bonds with their keepers and fellow elephants.
Moving on to Ithumba, the heart of Sheldrick's rewilding efforts in Tsavo East, you will witness the final stages of reintegration into the wild. The Ithumba orphans, including new arrivals like Weka and Manda, share incredible moments during their morning stockade visit, playful midday mud bath, and the heartwarming return to the stockade in the evening. This experience offers a deep understanding of elephant rehabilitation and the impact of conservation efforts.
