Gonarezhou and Gorongosa - Oct 2026

This is an amazing safari for a small group of safari lovers to destinations and parks that are not well visited by main stream tourism , this is not because of the volume or variety of wildlife and beauty of the areas more because they have not been really discovered by the tourism industry - a situation that is quickly changing, so see it now before they get really busy.

Gonarezhou is becoming one of those must see destinations for safari aficionado's as it is really going from strength to strength highlighted by the confidence shown to re - introduce Black and White  Rhino into the park. 

The park itself has a tremendous variety and density of wildlife, especially at this time of year when it will be starting to heat up  and the last remaining water along these perennial rivers and reservoirs making the camp localities right in the best seats in the house.

Gorongosa is next which is essentially a privately run National Park so it has had a tremendous amount of investment in critical areas of restocking - anti poaching - community outreach projects - research and tourism,  today it is now a quality wildlife destination with a wonderful variety of mammal species including all your big predators, especially the wild dogs  that are now established and doing well here. There are a good number of different environments here from the forests on Mt Gorongosa itself down to the flat open flood plain grasslands, acacia woodlands, palm forests and open wetlands. Lots to explore and enjoy here.
