You have two choices of reaching Gonarezhou either with a charter flight that would leave from Harare International Airport in the morning, you may want to have spent the night in Harare first which we can arrange, or there are early morning flights from Johannesburg which would also suit to land early enough to then continue straight on to Gonarezhou.
Or the alternative is using Federal Airlines from Johannesburg to Buffalo Range Airport where we would meet you and then transfer through to the park arriving in camp later in the afternoon.

This is a classic safari seasonal tented camp set up on the edge of the Runde River with views over Gonarezhou's most iconic feature the Chilojo Cliffs. It's a great site and is nice and central for us to explore much of this Northern section of the park and all of the varied habitats that make this area such a good wildlife area. From here we will also be able to do a night out fly camping on the top of the Chilojo Cliffs which is a superb and fun night out.
The main area for the Black and White Rhino is also not far from here so we will also spend time looking for these iconic and rare animals adding to the wonderful list of species that this park can generate for you along with a substantial bird list.
Day notes
We have a game drive with a packed lunch that will take us through to our next camp so we have no time pressure and as it will be hot, we may want to stop for a dip in the Runde River to take the edge off. Don't worry the river is very shallow where we swim, so no croc wrestling during your cool off.

This camp is a seasonal tented camp set up in an area where two of the main perennial rivers of the Gonarezhou intersect before leaving Zimbabwe and heading to the sea. The camp is exclusively booked adding to whole remoteness you will feel in this beautiful area with large seasonal pans wide open flood plains and the river frontage which makes it a beautiful walking and game drive area and very wildlife and bird rich.
Day notes
We leave the camp this morning after a nice breakfast and make our way through to Buffalo Range Airport which is outside of the park - we will need to clear the immigration formalities here before taking off for Mozambique. We land in Mozambique at Chimoio Town where we will again clear immigration and then change over planes to continue on through to Gorongosa which is a short hop away.
Your Gorongosa safari starts right from the gate with a drive into camp, the plan being to have you there and settled in camp in time for a late lunch lunch.

While you are here you will be able to do a combination of day and night game drives plus bush walks. This park absolutely heaves with the volume of wildlife that concentrates along the wide open grasslands created by the falling water levels of Lake Urema. It is a huge park so each day we shall try and explore new areas which may require a packed lunch and lots of cold drinks as this area can be very hot but well worth visiting. Highlights here are the wonderful population of African Wild Dogs that have really done well here and are commonly seen hunting over these open grasslands and through the woodlands. You will also be given the opportunity to spend time with the Pangolin Rehabilitation Team who have pangolins that have been rescued from the pet and parts trade, a great experience watching them feed out in the bush.
