This 1,100-year-old monastery was painstakingly rebuilt stone by stone by owners Juan Manuel and Lucía Urban González Serna over the course of 15 years, with more than 100 skilled craftsmen working every single day to return it to the opulent structure it is today. What was once near ruin now stands as a breathtaking private sanctuary—an achievement of vision, reverence, and uncompromising commitment to history.
This five night and four day adventure starts in Madrid where we all will stay at the world renown Mandarin Oriental Ritz 5-star Luxury hotel in the "Golden Triangle of Art". Following our night in Madrid, we will head to the Monasterio de San Pelayo for the next four nights and three days. Two days will consist of exceptional red-legged driven partridge shooting and one day of either roe deer hunting or a lovely tour of the city of Palencia, just 25 minutes from the Monastery.
