Welcome!
The province of Misiones is located in the furthest north east corner of Argentina, touching borders with both Brazil and Paraguay. The primary highlight of Misiones province is unquestionably the world famous Iguazú Falls, a world heritage site and one of the new 7 Wonders of Nature. With over 250 waterfalls surrounded by the tropical jungle of Argentina and Brazil, one can't get much closer to nature in all her glory. Set deep in the heart of the Iguazú National Park the waterfalls are 80m high and 2.7km wide. Its many different cascades contribute to the 5,000 cubic meters of water that tumble down it every second.
Right after the Iguazú Falls, the Moconá Waterfalls are the most important and spectacular natural attraction in the Province of Misiones. Located within the Natural Reserve Yaboti which has been declared a biosphere by UNESCO in the 90´s, this geological fault unique in the World, the Moconá Waterfalls divides the Uruguay River lengthwise; and being a two-mile-step it constitutes an uninterrupted waterfall that depending on the river's height can reach up to 60 feet high.
