Introduction

About the Tour

On this unique wildlife and astrophotography trip Paul will accompany you in the field, guiding you through how to get the best images, allowing you to return home with striking and distinctive additions to your portfolio.

Designed to be relaxed and flexible, this trip begins with most effort concentrated during the day on Etosha’s famous wildlife.  But we typically use a couple of hours in the evening after dinner to learn or refresh some night sky basics.  As we head further south, the shift in emphasis is to more night scenery and dark skies.  But there are still lots of wildlife opportunities during the day, so your camera will be in constant use.  Night highlights begin at the beautiful Ai Aiba lodge and culminate in the stunning quiver tree forest at Tsauchab and red sand dunes at Bagatelle Game Ranch.

You’ll get individual guidance from Paul alongside informal group discussions on techniques and experiences. Paul will concentrate on your own photography throughout the trip but will also demonstrate some advanced techniques for astrophotography including use of a star tracker for very long exposures.  This gives you the opportunity to integrate it with your own equipment enabling you to come back home with images of Namibia's famous night skies like you've never captured them before.
