In the late 19th century the European family Olsen settled in the northern Patagonia Region near Junin de los Andes and laid their claim to 40,000 acres in the foothills of the Andes. There were no bridges or roads, only an abominable spirit to survive and the recipient of some incredible fortune. While farming and cattle kept the Olsen’s from starving, it was the introduction of trout, Red Deer, hares and boar that eventually made life much easier and laid the groundwork to become Hosteria San Huberto, one of the premier trout lodges in Argentina.

In the foothills of the Andes Mountains and in full view of the Lanin Volcano, it is doubtful you will encounter a more beautiful and serene setting than fishing the streams and rivers near San Huberto Lodge.
