Patagonia Cycling Adventure – Northern Lakes Region
This 11-day cycling journey takes you through one of the most scenic regions of Argentina’s Patagonia, combining quiet backroads, legendary routes, and remote natural landscapes. Starting in San Carlos de Bariloche and finishing in Villa La Angostura, the route connects lakes, forests, and mountains across the northern part of Patagonia.
The itinerary is designed to offer a balanced mix of riding experiences. You’ll cycle along the iconic Route of the Seven Lakes, explore lesser-known gravel roads, and take on more challenging rides such as the ascent of Batea Mahuida Volcano. Along the way, there are also opportunities to enjoy flowing trails, visit small villages, and ride through areas shaped by Mapuche culture.
Daily distances and terrain vary, with support vehicles available when needed, making the tour suitable for riders who are comfortable on mixed terrain and looking for a rewarding but achievable challenge.
Beyond the cycling, the trip includes local touches such as regional cuisine, time in small Patagonian towns, and moments to slow down and take in the surroundings. The focus is on experiencing the landscape in a natural way, without rushing from place to place.
