Arrival and meet-up at Huinid Hotel (also known as Pioneros Hotel). Check-in is available from 4:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage at reception and take some time to relax, enjoy the hotel facilities, or head out to explore the charming town of San Carlos de Bariloche.
A walk along Mitre Street is a great way to get a first feel for the destination. Here you’ll find a variety of outdoor and cycling shops in case you need any last-minute gear, as well as currency exchange offices.
In the late afternoon (around 17:00), we’ll gather for a bike fitting session to ensure everyone is comfortable and ready for the days ahead.
In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional local restaurant (included), followed by a short introduction to the trip, where we’ll go over the itinerary and what to expect during this cycling adventure.
Arrival in Bariloche & Preparation for the Ride
After breakfast, we set out on our first ride—an ideal introduction to cycling in Patagonia. Today’s route follows the famous Circuito Chico, one of the most scenic loops in the region.
The ride takes us along winding roads with stunning views of lakes, forests, and surrounding peaks. Along the way, we’ll make several stops, including the iconic Llao Llao Hotel, the charming alpine-style village of Colonia Suiza, and the base area of Cerro Catedral, one of the most important ski resorts in South America.
A lunch stop along the route, giving you time to relax and take in the surroundings.
After completing the loop, we’ll visit a local favorite, the Patagonia Craft Brewery, where you can enjoy a well-earned craft beer and soak in the laid-back Patagonian atmosphere.

Scenic Ride along the Circuito Chico
We’ll have breakfast at the hotel and should be ready early at the reception, dressed for
cycling, to hand over our luggage and take a 1 hour and 40 minute transfer to the Inalco
viewpoint on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. From there, we’ll begin our ride of about 45
km along the traditional Seven Lakes route on a well-maintained paved road, surrounded by
spectacular scenery and a rolling terrain of short climbs and descents. We’ll make a few
stops to hydrate and capture photos of some truly stunning spots.
We’ll enjoy a picnic near Lake Correntoso, and then a transfer will take us to San Martín de
los Andes (1 hr), a charming small town on the shores of Lake Lácar, where we’ll spend the
night.

Inalco Viewpoint
After breakfast, we head out for an exciting day of trail riding on the slopes of Cerro Chapelco, overlooking San Martín de los Andes.
Today’s ride takes us through the Chapelco ski area, surrounded by beautiful native forests and mountain scenery. The region is known for its extensive network of high-quality trails, including long, flowing single tracks that offer a fun and rewarding riding experience for intermediate to advanced cyclists. Expect a mix of terrain and spectacular views throughout the day.
Depending on the season, access to certain trails and the use of chairlifts within the park may involve an additional fee of approximately USD 15 (not included).

Trail Riding on Cerro Chapelco
After breakfast, we check out and begin our journey north through the province of Neuquén Province, heading deeper into the Patagonian wilderness.
A vehicle transfer brings us to the starting point of today’s ride, where we begin cycling along the legendary Route 40. This iconic road takes us toward the northern reaches of Lanín National Park, with stunning views as we ride alongside the shores of Lake Aluminé.
Our bikes are prepared and ready for the day as we set off on the first cycling section:
45 km | 543 m elevation gain, following scenic and remote stretches of this classic Patagonian route.
Afterward, we transfer by van to begin the second cycling section:
16 km | 100 m elevation gain, offering a more relaxed ride through the surrounding landscapes.
A traditional Patagonian lunch is included, featuring local lamb (drinks not included), providing a perfect break to refuel and enjoy the regional cuisine.
In the afternoon, we continue by vehicle to the lakeside town of Villa Pehuenia, where we settle in for the evening.

Along Route 40 to Villa Pehuenia
After breakfast, we begin the day with a short briefing outlining the route and what to expect from one of the most challenging and rewarding rides of the trip.
We set off from Villa Pehuenia toward the impressive Batea Mahuida Volcano. This dormant volcano, located near the Chilean border, offers a unique cycling experience through high-altitude landscapes.
Important: Entrance to the volcano is not included (approx. 5,000 pesos per person). Payment must be made in cash at the entrance.
The ride begins with a demanding climb, gaining most of the elevation in the first section:
As we ascend, we pass a series of beautiful highland lagoons before reaching the summit at 1,700 meters above sea level. At the top, you’re rewarded with a truly unforgettable: a volcanic crater filled with a natural lake, creating a mirror-like surface and panoramic views across the Andes.
There is also the opportunity for a short trekking section near the summit, allowing you to explore the volcanic landscape up close.
The descent follows the same route and includes technical downhill sections, requiring focus and control.
After the ride, we enjoy a traditional lunch hosted by a local Mapuche indigenous community, offering authentic regional dishes and a meaningful cultural experience.
We then return to our hotel in Villa Pehuenia for a well-deserved second night.

Challenge Ride to the Summit of Batea Mahuida Volcano
After breakfast, we begin the day with a short briefing outlining the route and key highlights.
We then set out by bike toward the historic Paso del Arco, an old and now abandoned border crossing that once connected Argentina with Chile. The ride takes us through remote landscapes, offering a sense of isolation and history unique to this region.
Along the way, we visit the remains of the former customs house and continue to the scenic Laguna del Corazón, a peaceful lagoon surrounded by untouched nature.
A lunch stop is included during the excursion.
Afterward, we return by bike to our hotel in Villa Pehuenia.

Ride to Paso del Arco & Hidden Lagoons
A transfer by van takes us to the shores of Lake Moquehue, where we begin today’s ride. From here, we pedal towards the Lake Noquinco region, following a remote and rugged route. The road conditions make for slow but rewarding progress, as the terrain is rocky and uneven, requiring a steady pace and careful riding. This section offers a true sense of Patagonia’s wild character, with beautiful landscapes along the way.
We’ll arrive at the Noquinco community in time for a well-deserved lunch, offering a chance to rest and experience the local atmosphere. After lunch, we continue by vehicle, transferring to the town of Aluminé, where we settle in for the evening.

Lago Moquehue
After breakfast we pedal through the trails at the Mapuche Aboriginal Community of Rivers Malleo.
We’ll be riding in the area known us the fisherman’s paradise - with very big canyons and eroded rocks with different shapes all over the valley. The journey continues with great views of Lanin volcano. The road alternative is Route 40 from day 4, going the other direction. Transfer to our accommodation in San Martín de los Andes.

Ride to the Meeting Point of the Sacred Rivers
A morning riding through the rural roads and trails (optional) of Laguna Rosales and Lake Logog. Free afternoon and night in San Martín de los Andes. San Martín is a popular spot for outdoor activities and competitive sports. There are a host of mountain bike trails to explore, including a section of the Huella Andina which is the newest long-distance walking and biking trail in northern Patagonia. We will visit the lake’s famous beaches and then we will return to San Martín on a pure descent. The afternoon will be free for independent exploration, discovering the city's Swiss-style wooden architecture and its famous artisan ice cream and chocolate boutiques.

Lago Escondido
After breakfast we take a short transfer from San Martín we set off by bike through one of the most incredible landscapes in northern Patagonia, following the route known as the Seven Lakes Route. Internationally known for its beautiful lakes, crystal clear rivers, virgin forests and views of the Andean peaks, this spectacular ride will take us through two national parks: Lanin and Nahuel Huapi. Picnic at Lake Correntoso.. Farewell late lunch/early dinner in a local nice restaurant.

Ride along the Route of the Seven Lakes to Villa La Angostura
