Hosted Safari with Safari Specialists
Most safaris pass straight through Maun on the way to the Delta. This one begins there.
Join the Safari Specialists team for a unique hosted safari that starts in our home town of Maun, where you’ll meet the people behind Safari Specialists and experience some of the community projects that are close to our hearts. From supporting orphaned elephants to visiting a village feeding programme, your safari begins with meaningful local connections before heading into the wilderness.
The Safari Specialists team who will host you during your time in Maun and accompany you on different sections of the safari through Moremi and Chobe.
Your time in Maun begins with the Maun Immersive Tour, offering a glimpse beyond the dusty streets and tourism focus of the town and into the daily rhythm of the local community. This is followed by a visit to Elephant Havens, supporting the remarkable work they do rescuing and caring for orphaned elephants.
One of the most meaningful parts of your stay is joining the Safari Specialists team on a visit to Chanoga Village, where you will experience the Feed A Child Programme. This initiative provides a daily fortified breakfast porridge to undernourished young children in the village, helping support their physical and mental development.
The Chanoga project is led by former Safari Specialists team member Kagiso Bojosi, whose dedication to her community is a wonderful example of how one person can make a real difference. Every safari booked through Safari Specialists contributes to the Feed A Child programme through Travel for Impact, and our team also donates additional funds and time. Together with Kagiso, we continue to support projects within the community, including the development of a vegetable garden and playground to benefit the children.
After your time in Maun, your safari adventure begins with seven nights exploring Botswana’s wilderness.
You spend three nights on a private mobile safari in the wildlife-rich Moremi Game Reserve, one of the most beautiful and varied areas of the Okavango Delta.
From there, you fly north into a remote corner of Chobe National Park for two nights at Nogatsaa Pans Lodge, an area known for its quiet atmosphere and excellent wildlife viewing around the pans.
Your journey ends with a scenic road transfer to Chobe Elephant Camp, where you spend the final two nights enjoying game drives overlooking the Chobe floodplains and a Chobe River cruise — a perfect way to end your safari.
