On arrival at Maun Airport, you are welcomed by Safari Specialists in the arrivals hall. Transfer to your Maun accommodation (Sedia Hotel or similar) where you spend 2 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Your first afternoon is at leisure to relax after your international flights and be ready for a busy few days ahead. The Safari Special team will join you for dinner to celebrate your first night and discuss the plans ahead.
Sunday is a full day, starting off with a Maun Cultural Tour hosted by a local guide showing you some of the more hidden sides of Maun town, including a lesson in basket weaving and traditional snacks. Ending at a local restaurant where lunch is for your own account.
That afternoon we head out to Elephant Havens, elephant orphanage, the $100 per person donation is included already in your trip cost, should you wish to donate more this can be done directly to Elephant Havens.
Return to Sedia Hotel and an evening meal and prepare for an early start the next day
This morning, after an early breakfast, we hit the road early to head out to Chanoga village to assist with the Feed A Child morning routine. You can get involved in setting up, serving and interacting with the children of the village and have a short tour to see the community works led by Kagiso Bojosi, supported by Safari Specialists and our guest donations. You are welcome to bring additional gifts for the community/children including stationary, educational toys, clothing and toiletries - a list of recommendations will be provided on request, or make a further financial donation to assist with maintenance of the school vegetable garden, community playground or Feed A Child food support.
After a busy few hours, return to Maun by road for lunch (own account at a cafe in town). After lunch, the safari action begins, you fly into Moremi/Khwai for your 3 night private mobile safari. At the airstrip you meet your guide and it is a game drive transfer to your private wilderness campsite where camp is set up and you settle in for a safari and safety briefing before heading out on the afternoon game drive. Some Safari Specialists team members will join you on safari.
After breakfast and a last morning game drive, your private guide will transfer you to the airstrip to fly up to a remote area of Chobe National Park to one of the best kept secrets in Botswana, Nogatsaa Pans camp. At this time of year, the water pan in front of camp offers a parade of wildlife throughout the day, coming in from the surrounding dry bush to quench their thirst. Your days are spend both on game drives to a series of water holes dotted around as well as game viewing from camp. Again, some team members from Safari Specialists will join you.
Today you enjoy a leisurely road transfer up through Chobe National Park to the Chobe River area, where you spend the last 2 nights on safari at Chobe Elephant Camp on a fully inclusive basis. Your time is balanced between game drives in Chobe National Park. a Chobe River cruise and a village visit, again sharing your experience with some of the Safari Specialists team.
The safari ends in Kasane, with the option of flying out directly from Kasane to Johannesburg or extending into Victoria Falls (additional cost).
