This adventure starts with a night at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect base to catch your breath and adjust to African time. Your safari begins in earnest with four nights in the Northern Serengeti at Serengeti Bushtops, where you may witness the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle—the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra—alongside the region’s abundant resident game. For an extra thrill, add a hot air balloon safari to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the plains (additional cost; must be pre-booked). After a flight to Manyara airstrip, continue to Entamanu, ideally located for exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caldera is home to stunning landscapes and Africa’s largest population of permanent wildlife—enjoy a picnic lunch during your crater visit. Finally, spend three nights at Chem Chem Lodge on a private concession between Lake Manyar and Tarangire, with game drives in Tarangire National Park or on the private concession, and excursions to the beautiful Lake Manyara, before you fly back to Kilimanjaro Airport.
