Introduction

Thank you for choosing Trek Safaris and Crocodile Bay Resort as your next fishing destination. The information on these  pages is designed as a guide for planning and logistical purposes.

The package you have purchased includes one night in San Jose, round trip commercial airfare San Jose/Puerto Jimenez/San Jose, all transfers, all fishing (including conventional tackle), breakfasts at Crocodile Bay, water and soft drinks at the lodge, and lunch, water, beer and soft drinks provided on your fishing boat. You will be responsible for meals in San Jose, evening meals while at the resort, any airport taxes, all gratuities, bar at the lodge and any item of a personal nature.

A TYPICAL FISHING DAY

At first light you will be up for breakfast, either in the main dining room, or around the pool. After breakfast, you will head down to the dock to board your boat for a full day of fishing.  You might take the early part of the morning to catch additional bait, as often they are very sensitive and do not survive for any extended period of time. Your captain will have your boat equipped for a full day on the water including tackle, lunch and drinks on board. You will fish until approximately 3:00pm and then head back to the dock. You will have time to relax around the pool with a cool drink from their well stocked bar while you decide on where you'd like to go for dinner.

THE FISHING

The tremendous variety of species and the numerous fishable areas are what makes this region so popular. For this reason, Crocodile Bay Resort offers quite a selection of craft from which to choose. The standard bots are 24ft Boston Whalers, perfect for cruising the shorelines or making the generally short runs to the blue-water. All boats are fully stocked with tackle, communication and fish finding electronics. The lodge will also offer, for an upgrade charge, daily fishing on one of their fleet of 33-foot Strike boats, with these boats offering the ultimate in comfort for the angler.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You can expect a laid back trip to one of the most beautiful places in Costa Rica. Your trip will be organized, the food and accommodations as advertised and all in all you can expect a thoroughly enjoyable trip. We however cannot control the fishing, weather, flights and items of this nature. In this area of Costa Rica you can expect it to be hot with intermittent showers. Always be sure to consume lots of fluids and to take shade where and when you can. Daytime temperatures here will generally be in the 90’s with overnights in the 70’s.
