Rwanda is home to a significant percentage of the remaining wild living Mountain Gorillas in Africa. They have several families habituated giving you an up close and personal view of these massive primates and you get to watch and experience a short part of their day. It is an amazing experience. A question we often get is the difference between seeing them here versus Uganda or the DRC. So here in Rwanda the permit fees are much higher than their neighbors, however they do have more families habituated than Uganda or DRC and you will find that if trekking through the mountains is going to be potentially hard for you then Rwanda does have less big slopes to navigate and having more families allows them to allocate those that find long walks problematic, a family much closer to the entry gates. Rwanda is also quite well linked with International Flights and with regional flights in and out of safari areas like the Serengeti making it also quite convenient.
