Day 1: Kigali

After clearing the entry formalities for Rwanda you will be met in the arrivals area and transferred to the hotel where you can relax and get used to your new environment in the Central Highlands of Africa.

Day 2: Musanze

After breakfast, your day starts with a tour of the city.  This would include; the craft market, The Gisozi Genocide memorial site & Kigali museum. This can be very emotive at the genocide museum so be prepared for that.  Depart for a 2 hours drive to the Ruhengeri area, the second largest town in Rwanda, with its stunning backdrop of five volcanic mountains – The Virunga's.  You will start off with lunch at Red rocks Intercultural Exchange Centre where you can take part in some of their local activities like joining the local brew makers to help make their local beer from bananas fruits.  Enjoy a big glass of the local brew so you are well set to enjoy other activities they also do like basket weaving . Later drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Musanze

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters – Kinigi to meet your guides for the day. After completing the park formalities, you shall embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once the family is found you are allowed to spend an hour watching the gorilla family in its natural wild home. You get so close to these awesome giant primates which is incredible especially when they stare at you with their deep set chestnut eyes. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience but at times may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude. We encourage for your own enjoyment to make sure that you are perfectly fit and healthy. . You will spend one hour with the gorillas, but it is an hour you will never forget. Return to your hotel for lunch and later dinner and overnight.

Day 4: End of Itinerary

After breakfast, you will set out for Golden Monkey tracking in the Volcanoes National Park. Entering dense stands of bamboo interspersed with open glades; you will make your way deep into golden monkey territory. Guides lead visitors to the habitat of groups of ‘habituated’ golden monkeys . Though viewing is kept to a maximum of one hour, you can get an up-close look at the golden monkey in its natural habitat. Adult monkeys frolic in plain view, feeding on bamboo leaves and leaping from perch to perch. Females carry their young, completely comfortable among onlookers. After lunch, you will depart for a 2 hours’ drive to Kigali. Engage in last minute shopping in one of the friendliest African capitals, before returning to the airport for your onward international flight back home.
