Senegal

Dakar

Wassadougou

Set at the confluence of the River Gambie and Sanone rivers, the tiny village of Wassadougou lies off the beaten track in Senegal. This remote village rests along the N7 road and consists of a couple of buildings including traditional mud huts and some local mosques. Visitors can explore the nearby Foret de Diambour a protected area in Senegal.

Tenefoul

Kedougou

Resting on the River Gambia in the Pays Bassari hills, Kedougou is a town in the Kedougou Region of south-eastern Senegal, close to the border with Mali and Guinea. Meaning ‘Land of Man’, the easy-going but growing town boasts gorgeous natural scenery; an attractive selection of accommodation; and decent facilities such as good internet connectivity, a library and several small businesses. Highlights include the spectacular 100-metre-high Dindefelo Falls, surrounded by strikingly straight layers of rock, and the UNESCO-listed Niokolo-Koba National Park, a Biosphere World Heritage Site where visitors can spot antelope, baboons, warthogs, and possibly even lions.
