Maryvale

Days 1 - 4

In the Darling Downs Region of Queensland, 854 kilometres north of Canberra, Maryvale is a rural town nestled in picturesque farmlands and just five minutes from the grandeur of the Main Range National Park, a camper's paradise and a renowned World Heritage Site. Walk through dense rainforests, past waterfalls and bubbling creeks, through thick groves of piccabeen palms and along sheer cliff faces on the park's various trails - the most popular being the exhilarating Scenic Rim Trail. In the Cunninghams Gap section of the park, hikers can explore the Mount Mitchell track until they reach a knife-edge ridge above a sheer cliff on the East Peak, known as 'Cooyinnirra' to the Aboriginal people. This natural lookout stuns with dazzling views of the Fassifern and Millar Vale Creek valleys and mounts Maroon, Lindesay, Barney and Ballow.
