Keflavik, one of the larger fishing towns in the country, is now part of the larger community called Reykanesbaer. The only international airport in Iceland is located just outside town, making it a hub for travellers and a great base from which to explore. Cultural and recreational activities in the town are centred around an indoor swimming pool, a few pubs, a movie theatre and a couple of unusual museums. The Rokksafnið Rock and Roll Museum is a fairly new centre, dedicated to the local musicians of past fame. Also of interest is Vikingaheimar (Viking World), a Norse exhibition centre where the main attraction is a Viking boat built exactly as it would have been centuries ago.
