The Parque Nacional Patagonia is home to bird-rich wetlands and wildlife viewing opportunities (including rare armadillos), while hiking around Monte Zeballos provides panoramic views of this section of Patagonia and windy Lago Buenos Aires is home to some quiet walking trails and lovely lookout spots. Finally, the working fruit farm of Chacra Don Neno offers informative guided tours and the chance to buy locally-produced delicacies like jams, preserves and syrups.
Fringing the southern Andes, Lagos Posadas or Lake Posadas lies northwest of the Argentinian province of Santa Cruz. Lake Posadas is renowned for its beautiful blue waters and distinctive tunnel-shaped rock set in its centre. Visitors can soak up the spectacular views of the lake with an incredible mountain backdrop, visit the nearby town of Hipolito Yrigoyen and enjoy a host of water-based activities, including trout and salmon fishing, hiking, and kayaking.
