Day 1: Greater Windhoek

Day 1 – Arrival in Windhoek

Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by your professional tour guide. From here, you travel via Windhoek for a short orientation drive before continuing south into the scenic Auas Mountains.

Your lodge is beautifully positioned on a hilltop overlooking a private nature reserve. Take time to relax by the pool and recover from your journey. In the late afternoon, enjoy your first guided game drive. Oryx, giraffe and springbok are often seen in this area, offering a gentle introduction to Namibia’s wildlife. Dinner is served at the lodge.

Day 2: Kalahari Namibia

Day 2 – Into the Kalahari

After breakfast, travel south towards the red dunes of the Kalahari. The landscape opens into wide savannah dotted with camelthorn trees and long parallel sand ridges.

In the late afternoon, set out on a sunset nature drive in an open vehicle. As the dunes glow in warm evening light, your guide introduces you to the unique flora and fauna of this semi-desert environment. The experience concludes with a traditional sundowner.

Day 3: Fish River Canyon

Day 3 – Quiver Trees & Fish River Canyon

Journey further south through Namibia’s striking arid landscapes. En route, visit a quiver tree forest, where these distinctive aloes were once used by the San people to fashion quivers for their arrows.

Nearby, the fascinating “Giants’ Playground” reveals impressive rock formations shaped over millions of years.

Continuing via Keetmanshoop, you reach the Fish River Canyon region. Your lodge is beautifully integrated into the granite surroundings, its stone chalets nestled among natural rock formations.

Day 4: Fish River Canyon

Day 4 – Fish River Canyon

Today is dedicated to exploring the impressive Fish River Canyon, considered the second largest canyon in the world. Stretching over 160 kilometres and reaching depths of up to 550 metres, it winds dramatically through the rugged landscape towards the Orange River.

Your guide will take you to selected viewpoints along the canyon rim, allowing ample time to appreciate the scale and tranquillity of this remarkable natural wonder.

Day 5: Namaqualand

Day 5 – Into South Africa & Namaqualand

Travelling along the Orange River, you cross the border into South Africa and enter the Namaqualand region. During spring (August–September), this area transforms into a vibrant tapestry of wildflowers.

Your charming retreat is set amid rolling hills with sweeping views across the surrounding mountains — a peaceful setting in the heart of Namaqualand.

Day 6: Namaqualand

Day 6 – Exploring Namaqualand

Today is reserved for exploring the surrounding reserves. Depending on seasonal conditions and rainfall, your guide will take you either to Goegap Nature Reserve or to Namaqua National Park near Kamieskroon.

Granite outcrops, open plains and seasonal blooms create a rewarding day of discovery and photography.

Day 7: Clanwilliam

Day 7 – To the Cederberg Mountains

Continue south towards the dramatic Cederberg Mountains. The scenery gradually shifts as sandstone formations and rugged peaks rise from the plains.

Your lodge is set in a tranquil wilderness location with wide views across the mountainous landscape. In the late afternoon, the mountains often glow in soft shades as the sun begins to set.

Day 8 – West Coast & Langebaan Lagoon

Leaving the mountains behind, travel towards the West Coast and the calm waters of Langebaan Lagoon.

Your hotel overlooks the lagoon and offers beautiful coastal views. The afternoon is at leisure — perhaps a walk along the beach or an optional boat excursion.

Day 9: Langebaan

Day 9 – West Coast National Park

Today you explore the West Coast National Park, known for its rich birdlife and diverse coastal scenery. Larger mammals such as eland, kudu, zebra and springbok may also be encountered.

Return to Langebaan in the afternoon and enjoy time to relax by the coast.

Day 10: Cape Town

Day 10 – Arrival in Cape Town

Travelling south, make a brief stop in the charming town of Darling before continuing to Cape Town.

Few cities rival Cape Town’s setting — framed by Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean. Upon arrival, check into your beachfront hotel in Camps Bay.

The evening is free to enjoy one of the city’s renowned restaurants, perhaps at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Day 11: Cape Town

Day 11 – Cape Peninsula

Weather permitting, begin the day with a visit to Table Mountain for sweeping views over the city and coastline.

Continue along the spectacular coastal road towards the Cape of Good Hope. Highlights include the penguin colony at Boulders Beach and the renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Your guide will adapt the day according to conditions to ensure the best possible experience.

Day 12: Cape Town

Day 12 – The Cape Winelands

Today you explore the beautiful Cape Winelands. Surrounded by mountain ranges, the valleys of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl are home to historic estates and elegant Cape Dutch architecture.

Visit a traditional winery for a tasting and gain insight into South Africa’s wine heritage before returning to Cape Town in the afternoon.

Day 13: Cape Town

Day 13 – Hermanus & Whale Watching

Travel along the scenic coastal route to Hermanus, widely regarded as one of the world’s finest land-based whale-watching destinations (seasonal).

A boat-based whale-watching excursion is included, offering close encounters with southern right whales during migration season. Outside of whale season, the dramatic coastline remains impressive.

Return to Cape Town in the afternoon.
