Today you receive your Fully Equipped Vehicles for your 4 Day Conception Bay Experience. 

Vehicle information:  2 Persons per Vehicle, both passengers will have the opportunity to drive, R2000.00 deposit required for the main driver of the vehicle,

After your Tour brief, depart to the next establishment.  The Tour Coordinator will lead the Convoy.  Driving time is approximately 4.5-5 hours driving.  Take in the incredible scenery the area has to offer. 

Arrive at the Lodge, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and Lunch.

Rest of the day is at leisure.  Relax by the Pool with the most awesome View!

Day 1 : Solitaire to Kuiseb Canyon

08:00  Meet the Guide Guide team. Time to get last-minute supplies and fill fuel tanks and jerry cans.

09:00 Depart from the Lodge, enter the Namib Naukluft Park – a restricted area that you can only enter in the company of a concession holder. The route will cross the Namib plains more or less on the same ox-wagon route followed by early settlers, German Schutztruppe and “transport ryers” in the late 1800s. The route leads to the Kuiseb River. The landscape gradually changes from the typical Namib plains into a colourful landscape of red sand dunes separated by grassy plains. Our first camp will be near Homeb under huge trees next to the dry river bed of the Kuiseb River.

Day 2: Crossing the desert

Breakfast and break-up camp.

Our aim with this trip is to drive across the desert from east to west. Depart and head southwest into the “sand sea”. We will negotiate massive dunes. Drivers’ skills are bound to be improving as the dunes offer greater and greater challenges. The dune straits are massive, and the dunes themselves even more impressive. Most are in excess of 150 m high. We set up camp among them, enjoying the unique thrill of desert camping.

Day 3: Crossing the desert

Breakfast and break-up camp.

The isolation the Namib offers is magical. You will cross one dune belt after another and the thrill of going down a slip face will become addictive. The guides will allow some time in dedicated areas for “playing” for those drivers that would like to feel the G-force and test their vehicles. Set-up camp and enjoy your second night in the dunes.

Day 4: To Walvis Bay

Breakfast and breaking up your desert camp for the last time.

Depart for Walvis Bay. The dune belt opens up between Meob Bay and Conception Bay, but immediately after Conception it stretches right onto the beach. From Conception Bay you will be driving on the beach. Scenery is truly magnificent. You head northwards towards Sandwich Bay passing the wreck of the Shawnee, negotiating the famed Langewand where massive dunes come straight down into the sea. There are only four places in the world to see this natural phenomenon. Due to the tides, there is only a very limited time span to negotiate this stretch of beach. After Langewand the trail once again leads into the dunes, circumnavigating the salt pan ‘extensions’ of Sandwich Harbour. From Sandwich Harbour the trail enters the roller coaster, a series of massive ‘roaring’ slip faces, not only giving you a thrilling experience but also offering breath-taking views of the harbour and a panorama of sandscapes on the way to Walvis Bay.

The trip concludes when you arrive early afternoon in Walvis Bay. 

End of tour: (breakfast)

Group departs to Swakopmund for an included late lunch. 

Drop-off vehicle. 

The rest of the day is at leisure for relaxing and exploring Swakopmund on foot. 

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a stroll on the beach. 

Today's highlight includes a Transfer by air, a beautiful way to discover Namibia is by air.  You will be transferred to the Swakopmund Airport for your included flight to Hoanib Valley Camp.

Enjoy a Franschhoek Guided Cape Gourmet Delights Tour with Wine and Food pairings that will delight you.

The rates will include the wine and food pairing fees at the 3 wine estates mentioned as well as lunch (choice of starter and a main OR a main and a dessert), one large bottle of still / sparkling water and a warm drink of your choice.  Please just keep in mind that there are other exciting estates that we can include on the Cape Gourmet Delights Tour if we have to change the itinerary for whatever reason. Our first stop in the Gourmet Tour is at the beautiful Moreson Wine Estate. Moreson’s Charcuterie and wine tasting is their own twist on novel wine tasting. Stretch out at the Farm Grocer bar counter while you sample a range of Moreson wines, each individually paired with mouth watering yummy homemade charcuterie. You get to experience two different wine and food pairings at Moreson as part of the Cape Gourmet Delights Tour. We prefer to keep at least one of them a secret.
 
Our next stop will be at the Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate where you will enjoy a wine and food pairing in their modern tasting centre. This wine and food is a match made in heaven and is for many the highlight of the gourmet tour. During the winter months you will enjoy our wine and food pairing close to the crackling fireplace while during summer you will be able to tickle your taste buds in the air-conditioned tasting room and enjoy the view of the majestic mountains outside. The beautiful wine estate also offers visitors amazing gardens and buildings – making for excellent photo opportunities.
 
The gourmet pairing at this beautiful estate changes every couple of months to reflect the season and fresh products available.
 
Believe it or not, but by now it should be time for a spot of lunch (included in the Gourmet Tour).
 
After lunch, at the Lust Bistro, the day will come to a delightful end.
This Gourmet Tour has been described by many as the highlight of their trip to South Africa. The wine areas of the Cape Winelands are known as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa.
 
Time permitting we can also visit a local Franschhoek coffee roaster to see how they roast their delicious coffee beans. If we are lucky we might even be able to taste some of the coffees that they offer. This visit is however, strictly time permitting.
 
Please note that this tour can only be done Mondays to Fridays.
