Upon arrival at Chapelco airport , you will be greeted by an experienced guide who is waiting for you. A private vehicle will transfer you to San Martin de los Andes, located 23 kms from Chapelco Airport. Placed on the shores of Lake Lácar, within the Lanín National Park, San Martín de los Andes is a paradise of peace and quietness, immersed in an environment of rivers, waterfalls, mounts and magical forests.

Paradise does exist!
With 412,000 hectares located in the northwest of the province of Neuquén, the Lanín National Park has protected the Andean-Patagonian forests since 1937. It owes its name to the Lanín volcano, which rises in the northern sector of the Park and surpasses the surrounding peaks for more 1,500 meters. Immovable, its asymmetrical summit always covered with snow can be seen in the distance, dominating the landscape. In addition to the Lanín volcano, the National Park also includes 24 glacial lakes, completing a natural environment rich in beauty and ecological diversity.
Lanin National Park
You are going to be picked up at 09.00 am from your selected hotel to visit the Lanin National Park.
One of the most characteristic visits to the Lanin National Park leads to the very base of the Volcano. Bordering the Chimehuin River, one of the best known in the world for trout fly fishing, you reach the largest lake in the Park the Huechulafquen, travelling along its northern bank with its blue waters and powerful swell.
Before arriving at the lake, you will make a stop at Junín de los Andes to visit the town center with its Church and the Mapuche cultural center, making contact with the Mapuche cultural heritage.
Your trip then continues to Lake Huechulafquen, entering the Lanin National Park and bordering the largest lake in the park from one end to the other.
At the end of the lake, you will reach Puerto Canoa where you will have the option of taking a catamaran ride that sails along part of the Huechulafquen and Lake Epulafquen to the 6 km long the Achen Niyeu volcano lava dump. This tour with a duration of 1h 45m, allows you to behold the imposing view of the Lanin Volcano snowy summit almost 3800 meters high. You will also visit Lake Paimún, with its green waters which are warm enough for swimming. The return to San Martín will allow you to observe the Mapuche Communities getting to know their settlements.
After this amazing day with breathtaking landscapes, you will return to your hotel to rest and to prepare for the following adventures!

Today is at your leisure to enjoy the site. We strongly suggest a visit to Mount Chapelco , a wonder of Patagonia and one of the most delightful and panoramic ski resorts in Argentina.
Another place worth visiting is Quila Quina, a spectacular circuit on lands inhabited by the Curruhuinca Mapuche community .

After your last sumptuous breakfast, make sure you save some time to buy your last-minute souvenirs and/or photos. At the scheduled time, you'll be picked up from your hotel to be transferred to Chapelco Airport to board your flight to your next destination. It's certain you'll carry the warmth of Argentina's people in your soul, not to mention the natural beauties of this wonderful country in your camera!
