Day 1: Harare

Sun. 29 Sep 2024

Your itinerary starts with one night in Harare which is a great idea in case of any delay en-route. You will have the day to rest up before the safari adventure begins.

Days 2 - 4: Gonarezhou National Park

Mon. 30 Sep 2024 - Wed. 2 Oct 2024

We will all meet at Nhambo Cottages, whichever way works best to get you here. Transfers by road or air will be discussed and costed separately based on your preference and budget.

Once you are here, we will be able to do our safari activities during the day and then for lunches and dinner we will go up to the main lodge so we can enjoy what the chef has on offer and get reset for another day on safari. The views from this lodge are great and the rooms really comfortable and the same as those in the main lodge.

This is an exceptional game viewing area with lots going on and a great way to start your Gonarezhou safari experience.

Days 5 - 8: Gonarezhou National Park

Thu. 3 Oct 2024 - Sun. 6 Oct 2024

We will have a nice mornings game drive to reach Chipale Camp so you can get all settled in after a nice meal and be ready for the afternoon game viewing. The camp is on a very nice flood plain area with beautiful big riverine trees so there is always some nice birds about and wildlife always in view around the rooms or down by the river which you can see from your room.

Our days here will start nice early as you watch the first light of the day over the river while we have breakfast and a hot coffee around the campfire. We then set off and explore the area either on foot or by vehicle. Sometimes we may stay out for the full day or return to camp for lunch and siesta before getting back out there. Sometimes it even makes sense just to stay in camp for the afternoon and watch the activity right there at the river. Unscripted safari.

Days 9 - 11: Gonarezhou National Park

Mon. 7 Oct 2024 - Wed. 9 Oct 2024

Today we travel to the far South of the park so we leave camp with a packed lunch and enjoy some of the natural pans and areas along the way and should get to camp later in the afternoon so you have time to get familiar with your new home and have a nice sundowner overlooking the river.

This a wonderful area for walking and enjoying watching the water from various vantage points. Lots of giraffe, buffalo, elephants, impala, nyala, kudu and lots more a nice relaxing way to end your Gonarezhou safari in this beautiful part of the park.

Day 12: Harare

Thu. 10 Oct 2024

We are planning for you to leave the park by air today from Chipinda Pools so we will leave camp early and make our way up to the North of the park in readiness for your departure flight back to Harare.

Day 13: Harare

Fri. 11 Oct 2024

Today, there will be a driver who will collect you after an early breakfast and your day of souvenir shopping begins! You will first head out to the beautiful Patrick Mavros Studio which really is a highlight here. A couple of "doors" down is Kumba, a wonderful place to stock up on locally made goodies. You will also be able to do some more authentic shopping at the Newlands Market.

Stop for a light lunch as you go and in the afternoon you will head out to the Wild is Life Sanctuary for your guided tour and the opportunity to connect with various animals who have been orphaned or rescued and homed here.  A decadent high tea is served in the middle of the tour and the evening is topped off with chilled Prosecco and canapés whilst watching the animals graze close by.

Day 14: End of Itinerary

Sat. 12 Oct 2024

Today, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your departure flight.
