Day 6: Kaiara - Tapajós River (Jamaraqua)

Shortly after breakfast, the journey continues with a disembarkation in the Tapajós National Forest, also known as FLONA, a vital conservation area covering over 500,000 hectares (1,235,500 acres). The group will moor near the Jamaraquá community, nestled in pristine nature. If the group is willing, embark on an extended hike through the primary forest, exploring one of the most captivating streams in the Amazon until they reach the legendary giant kapok tree (samaúma).

Affectionately referred to as the “grandma of the forest,” this monumental giant, estimated to be 600 years old by experts, stands as a symbol of generosity. Its expansive branches and dense canopy provide a habitat and support system for numerous species of plants, birds, and other wildlife. The hike can be adjusted in length to suit the group's preference.

To celebrate the final night of the trip, the crew will meticulously prepare a special dinner on the beach featuring the traditional Piracaia: grilled fish. This culinary delight, coupled with the serene natural surroundings, promises to make the last evening an unforgettable experience.
