Day 1: Manitoba

Upon arrival into Winnipeg you will clear immigrations and customs before being met by lodge owner Brian Burgess or a member of his staff. You will be transferred 90 minutes by road to Pointe du Bois where you will board a lodge boat for the last 45 minutes along the Winnipeg River.

You will arrive into time to unpack and relax on the deck while dinner is being prepared. Brian will discuss the routines for the next three days of fishing.

Day 2: Manitoba

You will be awakened each morning with a steaming pot of coffee delivered to you your cabin. After a hearty breakfast you will head down to the dock to meet your guide and head out for a full day on the water. Pine Island Lodge’s location on the scenic Winnipeg River offers exceptional access to our famous Walleye, Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass fishing.
You can also cast for Sauger, Perch, Mooneye, and Whitefish. The 150-mile long Winnipeg River is not what most anglers imagine when they think of a river. The river flows around dozens of beautiful tree-covered islands that harbour quiet bays and deep dark runs where you find fish even in the hottest weather.

We use roomy 17- and 18- foot Lund outfitters and Pro V complete with 50 to 90 hp 4 stroke engines. Each boat is equipped with swivel seats, beverage cooler, landing net, boat cushions, and a professional guide per boat.

We normally take a midday break for one of Pine Islands famed shore lunches before heading back out to fish the rest of the afternoon.

Expert tips

Pine Island Lodge offers day-long portage and fly-in trips to various lakes for trophy Smallmouth Bass and Walleye.

Due to conservation policies like catch-and-release and Manitoba Angling Licence requirements, we have continued to maintain a high quality fishery for Northern Pike, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass.

Day 3: Manitoba

After breakfast, it's time to meet your guide and figure out todays game plan.

You can fish virtually any type of water imaginable and there are endless miles of fish holding structure to explore. Yet, long boat rides aren’t necessary to find fish because you can virtually almost catch them from the doorstep of your cabin! Wind is also never an issue at Pine Island as numerous protected bays and inlets protect you from losing valuable fishing days to poor weather and your knowledgable local guides knows just where to put you for success. Again, it will be fresh fish, caught by you and prepared for you by your guide at midday.

Day 4: Manitoba

This will be your final day of fishing and you have yet to scratch the surface of the fishing potential in this beautiful area. The 150-mile long Winnipeg River is not what most anglers imagine when they think of a river. The river flows around dozens of beautiful tree-covered islands that harbour quiet bays and deep dark runs where you find fish even in the hottest weather. Your guide basically grew up on these waters, so, if there is a nearby honey hole, he will put you on it.

Day 5: End of Itinerary

Today, after breakfast,  it is time to say goodby to your new friends and be transferred by boat to Pointe du Bois and then by road back to the  Winnipeg Airport for your scheduled international departure.
