Day 1: Puerto Madryn

Welcome to Puerto Madryn: Let yourself get into the swing of unlimited nature!

Upon arrival at  Trelew  Airport your guide will meet and greet you. After this warm welcome,  you will be drived 123kms  to Punta Tombo to visit  the Penguin Rockery,  the largest penguin nesting ground in continental South America.  Magellan Penguins gather in colony of about three million specimens. Along the coast of the Peninsula, the beautiful penguins and the big elephant-seals enjoy the peace of the place.  A wide variety of birds -like rock cormorants, giant petrels, kelp gulls and black oyster catchers- take part in the peculiar performance of a natural, exclusive and moving theatre.

Penguins can be spotted from September to April so if you plan your trip off-season,  you will visit Trelew City and its Paleontological Museum to enjoy dynamic learning and recreation. Inside its modern rooms, MEF -which stands for Museo Egidio Feruglio- displays fossils and documentation that give proof of the habitat and habits of prehistoric animals, especially dinosaurs.
If there is one place in Argentina where Welsh roots evoke those immigrants who landed in America in search of a better world, that place is certainly Gaiman, your next stop on this tour. Welsh roots are present everywhere. In its clean and lonely streets, everyone respects the time for a nap and each of the annual celebrations. At present, these customs, their architecture, tradition and even their language have been preserved by the descendants of the first colonists.  One of these famous traditions, which lures visitors from all over the world, even from Wales itself, is the tea ritual. This singular beverage has its own secrets and is accompanied by the well-known Welsh cake. Each tea house has its own recipe and you will be welcomed to try them!

Finally your last stop is Puerto Madryn, your guide will assist you at check-in and you will have some time to rest and relax after this wonderful and exciting  day!

Day 2: Puerto Madryn

Peninsula Valdes: A unique natural area in the world.

Today you are going to  departure for a full day tour to Peninsula Valdes,  one of the finest wildlife reserves in South America. It is the most important geographical feature of the Argentine coast. It was declared a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO in 1999.
Southern Right Whales arrive and stay from June to December.  Sea lions, sea elephants, seals, guanacos, rheas and many seabirds are present in large numbers in the beaches and headlands.
The peninsula is made up of two gulfs: San José Gulf and Nuevo Gulf. At the heart of San José Gulf lies the Los Pájaros Island, home to all species of southern birds. At low tide you can reach the island, walking on the uncovered beach bed and in presence of algae. The Nuevo Gulf is, however, a special place for diving due to its deep and quiet waters.
