Day 6: Cape Town

Today, we recommend a full day Cape Peninsula tour with one of our private guides.

On this must-do private journey around the Cape Peninsula, you’ll tour the spectacular Atlantic seaboard. The drive takes you past the swish seaside suburbs of Sea Point and Clifton, and on to Camps Bay, with its many trendy beachfront cafés and restaurants.

The exclusive hamlets of Bakoven and Llandudno are also gorgeous sights to take in on your way to the fishing village of Hout Bay. Next, you’ll navigate the breathtaking curves of Chapman’s Peak Drive as it follows the Peninsula’s rocky coastline, revealing spectacular views in all directions.

At the Cape of Good Hope, which forms part of Table Mountain National Park, you have the opportunity to see some fabulous birdlife, as well as very special fauna, such as Cape mountain zebra, bontebok and chacma baboons. Ride the funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse and capture even more magical vistas of False Bay, or if you are feeling active, hike up from the famous Cape of Good Hope landmark.

Of course, no visit to the Cape Peninsula would be complete without popping in at Boulders Beach to witness the antics of the African penguins. Head home through the naval village of Simon’s Town, stop to browse the eclectic range of shops and galleries in bohemian Kalk Bay, and spot the surfers vying for the best waves at Muizenberg.

To round off your day, take a stroll through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, nestled on the slopes of Table Mountain. Here you can admire a panoply of the unique Cape flora also known as fynbos, as well as plants from the many diverse biomes of southern Africa. Or, if you prefer the fruits of a different kind of plant altogether, enjoy a wine tasting at one of the premium estates in the Constantia Valley.

CAPE POINT

Day 7: Cape Town

Full day to spend as you please. Perhaps visit some of Cape Towns unique galleries, shops, and museums. Of course, a visit to Cape Town would not be complete without riding the aerial cableway up Table Mountain!

Day 8: Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

Today, you will check out from Cape Grace, then you will be transferred to the Cape Town International Airport for the scheduled flight to Skukuza (note that this needs to be booked separately, but we are happy to assist). On arrival at Skukuza, you will be met and transferred to Singita Boulders, located in the Sabi Sands.

Boulders Lodge has a contemporary air of tranquillity that honours Africa in an authentic way. Inspiring the name Boulders was an enormous boulder that sat right in the middle of the place where the wine cellar was to be built. A simple decision was made to build the cellar around the boulder!

Guests can enjoy wrap-around views from most parts of the natural stone lodge, and the lookout deck offers the perfect spot from which to observe wildlife drawn to the Sand River. The quiet pond alongside the thatched lounge area allows the light and the landscape inside to the wide open spaces, where straw baskets, neutral shades and textured fabrics complement wooden furniture.

Singita Boulders Lodge offers twelve suites, all with their own en suite bathroom and shower, outside shower, private heated swimming pool, double-sided fireplace, mini bar and fridge, room mini safe, air-conditioning, overhead fans, private lounge, direct dial telephones and game-viewing deck.

Days 9 - 10: Sabi Sand Nature Reserve
