Muchenje Village Visit - Min 3 Night Stay

After breakfast we depart the lodge (10h00) and take a scenic drive to Muchenje Village. After arrival guests will go through to a women's initiative craft centre, where they are shown the intricacies of basket-weaving, the various ways of dying grasses, the art of pottery-making, the making of reed dancing-skirts, and wood-carving some of these items are for sale.

They have also build a small example of a traditional, one-roomed house, with the traditional pole bed. There will also be a show-and-tell on the old ways of ploughing.

After leaving the Craft Centre the guide take guests on a tour of Muchenje village, showing them Kgotla (chiefs office and village meeting place), the clinic and other local sights. During school time the guests also visit Mabele Primary School where the children will show them around their little school.
