Day 1: Overnight Travel

Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will then get your domestic shared light aircraft flight to Sossusvlei, where you will be greeted and then transferred to your first camp called Little Kuala.

A welcome oasis situated along the dry Auab riverbed in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve, Little Kulala celebrates the splendour and solitude of the Namib Desert. Excursions to Sossusvlei (via a gate exclusive to Wilderness Safaris vehicles), nature drives, walks and eco-sensitive quad biking, explore this fascinating landscape. A balloon safari offers an awe-inspiring experience soaring above the desert.

Day 2: Sossusvlei

The day is yours to explore the cams facilities or perhaps research into some activities.

For our first activity suggestion, we recommend going out and doing some exploring, World-famous Sossusvlei is an enormous clay pan, flanked by a field of towering sand dunes that flush red in the early morning. Close to Sossusvlei pan is Dead Vlei, another pan where water once flowed, but where all that now remains are the skeletons of camelthorn trees reaching up out of the cracked earth.

If you are still up for exploring more of these beautiful grounds, we recommend Sesriem Canyons, this fascinating geographical formation is the result of millions of years of water carving its way across the topography. At three kilometres long, the views from the top of Sesriem Canyon are breathtaking while walks through the gorge reveal distinct geographical layers which were laid down over aeons.

Day 3: Sossusvlei

The day is yours to explore the cams facilities or perhaps research into some activities.

Inspired by Dead Vlei, the design of the 11 climate-controlled, thatched “kulalas”, each with a private plunge pool, merges seamlessly into the timeless desert setting. Each villa has a rooftop Star Bed for romantic star gazing.

If you are still looking for more activities, we have another lined up. It involves looking at Namibia from another perspective, a balloon flight over the Kulala Wilderness Reserve offers a truly memorable desert experience soaring above the magnificent dunes, with a Champagne breakfast to look forward to at the landing site. This may come at an additional cost and is weather permitting.

Did you know at night there are glow in the dark scorpions? After dark, another realm of the Namib awakes. Walks reveal some captivating creatures, such as scorpions, which fluoresce under UV light.

Day 4: Skeleton Coast

You will be picked up and transferred to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to the Skeleton Coast, where you will be greeted and then transferred to your next lodge called Skeleton Coast Shipwreck Lodge.

Located in the famous Skeleton Coast concession between the Hoarusib and Hoanib rivers in the Skeleton Coast National Park, Shipwreck Lodge is only 45 km from Möwe Bay. The shipwreck-shaped chalets are nestled between the dunes with a view of the Atlantic Ocean where the cold Benguela current provides guests with a refreshing breeze.

Day 6: Skeleton Coast

The day is yours to explore the cams facilities or perhaps research into some activities.

10 Shipwreck - style cabins are spread out across along the sand dunes. Wake up to spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and fall asleep to the crackling of the wood-burning stove. The design was inspired by famous ship wrecks along the skeleton coast. The restaurant and dining area are at the heart of the lodge. Enjoy morning coffee or an evening sun downer on the outdoor deck, or retreat inside and enjoy the views of the starkly beautiful landscape.

Have you ever wanted to catch and eat your own dinner? Well, the Namibian Coast is a fisher's paradise.  Client of a shipwreck lodge will enjoy exclusivity of the area and can fish to their hearts content. After a successful day of fishing (subject to MIT permits) the chefs can prepare the fresh catch of the day for dinner. This activity is weather permitting.

Day 7: Hoanib River

Transfer to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to Hoanib Valley, transfer to the camp and overnigh

In a country jam-packed with vast, spectacularly beautiful landscapes, Kaokoland may just be the most incredible of them all. Deep in north-western Namibia, the area is a melee of towering mountains, sand dunes, and huge expanses of desert, scattered with unique wildlife and nomadic Himba settlements. It’s also one of Namibia’s most remote and wild environments, and one that not many will get the chance to discover in a lifetime.

Day 8: Hoanib River

The day is yours to explore the cams facilities or perhaps research into some activities.

For an activity, we recommend taking a scenic flight to explore Namibia, there’s nowhere on Earth quite like the Skeleton Coast: a ghostly stretch of deserted beach backed by high, wind-rippled dunes, the listing hulks of ancient whaling ships decaying forlornly in the sand, and the vast sun-bleached bones of their prey visible, semi-buried beside them. The best way to grasp the true scale of this unique landscape is undoubtedly with a bird’s-eye view.

If you feel like doing a bit of camping for another activity, then mobile camping along the remote Skeleton Coast is a rewarding experience for adventurous travellers who revel in rough terrain. Enjoy having thousands of square kilometres to yourself as your guide packs your days with fascinating landscapes, shipwrecks and desert and coastal wildlife - perhaps even the elusive desert elephants or lions.

Day 9: Hoanib River

The day is yours to explore the cams facilities or perhaps research into some activities.

Hoanib Valley’s six guest tents blend almost perfectly into the rugged environment. The colours, textures and patterns are inspired by the experience of the Hoanib; the rich ochre of the dunes, the geometric patterns of the Himba people and, of course, the giraffe that inspired the project. It’s entirely solar powered to ensure carbon emissions are kept to a minimum, and the tents sit on decks made of a wood, bamboo and 70% recycled-material composite.

If you are still up for doing some more activities and exploring, take a full-day trip through the dry desert environment to experience a different world at the Klein Oase and Auses springs, where you can watch desert wildlife come to drink. Birding around the oases is spectacular, too. Along the way, stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot.

Day 10: Etosha National Park

You will be picked up and transferred to the airstrip for your shared light aircraft flight to Etosha, where you will be greeted and then transferred to your next accommodation called Little Ongava Game Reserve.

Designed for privacy, luxury and an intimacy with the land, Little Ongava is arguably Namibia’s most luxurious accommodation with pristine views across the Ongava plains. Little Ongava is perched on the crest of a hill commanding magnificent vistas of the plains stretching for miles to the horizon, offering an extraordinary experience as the focal point of an Etosha journey.

Each lodge on Ongava has its own unique style, layout and atmosphere; but all offer the same wonderful sense of luxurious seclusion. Built from local materials in traditional fashion, they blend tastefully into the surrounding landscape, allowing visitors to feel at one with nature.

Spacious lounge areas, reflecting the colours and textures of the African bush, invite guests to relax, enjoy a drink from the bar, or simply gaze out into the distance and be surprised as Ongava’s spectacular wildlife emerges from the bush.

Day 11: Etosha National Park

The day is yours to explore the cams facilities or perhaps research into some activities.

One activity is of course a 'must do', is to go on a Game Drive, whether it will be in the evening when some animals are more active or during the day where you might catch a lion sleeping in some shade, it's the perfect opportunity to explore more lands that Africa has to offer an hopefully take plenty of photos from outside and inside the vehicle of the magnificent animals in their natural habitat.

If you are looking to do some footwork for your activity, then we recommend Rhino Tracking, there is the potential opportunity to track the rhino on foot, although this activity is more guaranteed and extensive within the Ongava Reserve. Here, the less irritable and far more approachable white rhino are the focus, and there are significant numbers in Ongava.

Day 12: Overnight Travel
